Excited to share my 18th publication and 2nd from my postdoc work @GeorgeMasonU @MoranLabGMU By utilizing 3D hydrogel system derived from decellularized lung matrices of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) patients, our research provides a deeper understanding of fibroblast behaviour in IPF environment. Key insights from our study indicate significant differences in the phenotype of IPF fibroblasts when cultured in 3D hydrogels. These fibroblasts not only show altered contractility but also lose the typical marker of α-smooth muscle actin, indicating a shift in their functional state. More importantly, they exhibit an increased expression of proinflammatory cytokines. Link: molbiolcell.org/doi/10.1091/mb…

@MoranLabGMU @NSF @Space_Station Congrats, Jeff! This is exciting news. Exploring aerosol migration in microgravity could offer invaluable insights into their behavior in Earth's atmosphere. I am fortunate to be part of the initial drafting phase of this prestigious grant.

Thrilled to report that we've received @NSF funds to send an experiment to the Int'l @Space_Station in 2025! The experiment will quantify aerosols' migration in response to temperature gradients. Aerosols in atmosphere affect climate, so we hope this work informs climate models.
