Park Chan-wook made I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK primarily as a gift for his young daughter. After spending years directing dark, hyper violent films like Oldboy, Park realized his daughter couldn't actually watch any of his work. @T800_User101 He made it because he wanted his daughter to be able to watch one of his films, and she was only 11 at the time 🥹🥹 kinda funny bc there still is violence and stuff in it, but it’s a really cute romcom with a signature PCW flair, highly recommend

Every once in a while, I think about the plot twist in Arrival (2016). It just sweeps you off your feet and recontextualizes the entire story you thought you've been watching. I don't think Denis Villeneuve will ever top it.
