Field Notes: July 2015 | #SkinwalkerRanch The ranch was lush and green. Wildlife was everywhere, and daily hikes often turned into nighttime observations. Along the southern treeline, I monitored heavy coyote activity that regularly kept the dogs on edge. I also noticed that when I used a green laser pointer from the mesa toward the southern treeline, it sometimes appeared to trigger an increase in coyote activity, sending them into a frenzy and putting the dogs on high alert. One afternoon, a hailstorm engulfed the mesa over what is now commonly called the "Triangle." It was remarkable how concentrated the storm appeared over that area. At one point I stopped taking photos and simply stood there on the back desk of Homestead 1 watching it roll across the landscape. By 2015, I was still carrying a camera not just to pass the time, but to document the land itself. These images were never intended for the public. I enjoy sharing them because they offer a glimpse into the ranch as it was, Home.

Just a regular ol' rocket engine! The third of four RS-25 rocket engines have arrived to @NASAKennedy to be integrated into the Artemis III rocket. Space Launch System uses four RS-25 engines to propel the Orion spacecraft, providing over two million pounds of thrust at liftoff.
