#OTD 57 Years Ago: Apollo 11 launched from Kennedy Space Center carrying astronauts Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin to the Moon.

Just a regular ol' rocket engine! The third of four RS-25 rocket engines have arrived to @NASAKennedy to be integrated into the Artemis III rocket. Space Launch System uses four RS-25 engines to propel the Orion spacecraft, providing over two million pounds of thrust at liftoff.

This month marks the anniversary of STS-135, the final space shuttle mission. 🚀During the mission, Astronaut Sandy Magnus—former college soccer player and recipient of the United Soccer Coaches Honorary All-America Award—received updates on the Women's World Cup from mission control.

#ICYMI this is your Artemis update for the week 👇 🧑‍🚀The crew of Artemis II visited Kennedy Space Center for a mission celebration. 🚀The left aft assembly SRB segment for Artemis III arrived in the VAB ahead of stacking. 🔥Artemis III heat shield installation underway.

🚌 The Kennedy Space Center bus tour began in 1966, offering guests a behind-the-scenes look at America's space program. Visitors saw Saturn V rockets on the launch pads and explored where history was being made. Within just one year, visitation exceeded NASA's expectations with nearly 475,000 guests taking the tour! 🚀

Back where it all started! 🚀 The @NASAArtemis II astronauts – @astro_reid, @AstroVicGlover, @Astro_Christina, and @Astro_Jeremy – returned to Kennedy this week for their first official visit since launch! From the VAB to the LCC and all points in between, the crew visited with our workforce, checked out the Orion spacecraft that took them to the Moon and back, and got a firsthand look at preparations for Artemis III. It’s always a good day when Moon-bound explorers come home to Kennedy!
