#MidWeekMindset 👉 Don’t Hesitate Giving
A couple days ago my family and I were driving and decided to stop at In-N-Out for lunch.
My husband, Jake, and I decided to divide and conquer. He dropped me off to order our food, and he and the kids went to fill up the car with gas.
I was standing in line and there was an older gentleman in front of me.
He had white hair, a green long sleeve shirt and glasses. He was looking down, counting change.
As we approach the front of the line, he looked back at me, somewhat embarrassed, and said, "I need to go to my car and get more change."
I had this urge to buy him lunch but instead I full on hesitated and said, "ok".
Once he was out the door, everything inside me wanted to buy him lunch. And although I don't know for sure, I sensed he was struggling.
I was eager for him to come back, but he never did.
My heart sank.
Frantically, I texted Jake asking if he saw a man outside that fit the description, but he didn't. He was gone.
I proceeded to wait for our food, holding back tears. It broke my heart knowing I could've helped and I didn't.
It was a good reminder for me → don't hesitate to give.
So here's my invitation to you... when you feel that nudge to help, listen to it. Don't overthink it. Don't wait for the perfect moment. Just act.
Giving doesn't have to be monetary. It can be offering your seat, holding space for someone feeling overwhelmed, sending a thoughtful text, or simply saying hello.
Sometimes it's the smallest gestures that make the biggest impact. You never know who might need exactly what you have to give.
