I see some criticism related to my map of the city of Tirana correlating a higher socioeconomic status with a lower share of Muslim first names. If this isn't satisfactory for some, we also have microdata from the 2011 census about university completion by religion in Tirana.

@LirimKap Stavro\ Stavri and Dhiogjen are normal Orthodox names. Nothing surprising here. Especially for the older generation.

@KuciMario 20% didn't answer in Vlora county, 15% in Gjirokaster but only 4% didn't answer in Shkoder county.

@TCJE_org We have a pretty good idea. The census is not the only large scale survey of religion in Albania, but they all agree that the Orthodox have a massive decline. The people who did not answer in 2011, were not that much from Orthodox areas. They resemble your average Albanians.

As this blog ilustrates, there is overwhelming evidence of a large demographic decline of the Orthodox population in Albania. This a very interesting historical phenomenon, but basically most of the Albanian public opinion refuses to accept it or ignores it.

An attempt to estimate the population of Albania as of 2021, using various data sources. It implies that the population has fallen by more than 9% since 2011, when the census counted 2.8 million residents.

@hermahai @filani_v4 If you speak Arvanite, you should understand Albanian easily as Arvantine is a dialect of Albanian, mostly similar to southern Cham dialect.

@filani_v4 I speak Arvanite at a very good level. My wife is not Arvanite origin!

From over 1500 members, 28 have known Vlach (Aromanian) ancestry. Below we compare the haplogroup distribution with Albanians overall, and with Tosks specifically. All groups have very similar haplogroup distributions. More in-depth info will come soon.

@GeromanAT @WarInUkraineYet Albanians (which have been massacred and discriminated as no one else in Europe) make up 92% of Kosovo. If you think that a referendum is needed to get rid of the Serbs....

@WarInUkraineYet Kosovo had the right to decide by referendum - Crimea and Donbas - it is said - had no right to do that. That is all I can see on those conflicts. The fucking Western double standards.

People are really trying to latch onto Kosovo as a "new" Ukraine when the reality is much less kind to the West in this regard... Ukraine ≠ Kosovo and Russia ≠ Serbia, no matter how much you stretch allegories to fit a bipolar vision of the world. Might get hate for this.
