@jenmweb @TheAcademy @TheMitziGaynor @tcm Thankfully I had to go to sleep and did not have to watch the In Memoriam. It is always a mess. For years we've been saying they should get TCM to take it over but apparently that's never going to happen ^PG

Yet again, @TheAcademy dismisses some wonderful performers in their In Memoriam segment.... in particular, the fabulous @TheMitziGaynor #mitzigaynor who performed 'Georgy Girl ' to a standing ovation at the 1967 ceremony. Very disappointed 😞 💔@tcm #TCMFF @TCM_Party

I’ve been told this morning that @rudyfan Donna Hill has very sadly died… What a shock. And a great loss to the silent film world. Generous in deed & thought & a supporter of @kenbioscope from afar, avid watcher of KBTV in lockdown, we’d finally met in person in Pords in October

I was shocked to hear that the great historian and irreplaceable friend Donna Hill @rudyfan passed away last weekend. She was generous to a fault and went above and beyond to support the classic film community. Here we are at her beloved @sfsilentfilm.

The last days of 2024 are terribly sad, as the entire silent film community mourns Donna Hill @rudyfan, a superb historian and a warm, kind person. Rest her sweet soul.

I’m really quite speechless over this loss, which really illustrates just how important it is to keep up with people. Lovely Donna gave me a gorgeous Jean Harlow photo not all that long ago and I think of her whenever I see it—says a lot about the kind of person she was.

The outpouring of love for @rudyfan this morning tells you all you need to know about Donna Hill. She was a warm-hearted, kind soul, generous with her knowledge and time, who took immense joy in uniting the community of silent film scholars and fans. She is so deeply missed.
