@backandacross Think the umps might be having a word about you running down the middle of the pitch...
English

@secondtierpod Fernando "falls over" Forestieri 🤣 He was a great player when he stayed standing up.
English

@WG_RumblePants @backandacross @sundayservice22 I assume that you're standing on the boundary watching a game of village cricket on a Sunday afternoon.
English

@MCCOfficial when will you be updating the Android Laws app? I get the following message when I try and download it.

English

@chrisb767664351 @MichaelTakeMP @TRobinsonNewEra Was that whooshing sound you heard as you wrote this the joke going straight over your head?
English

@MichaelTakeMP @TRobinsonNewEra He's probably got more ethnic friends than you've ever met in your whole life. To come out with such a statement, you've not followed any of his work since his edl days have you?
English

@nickaylward @henrywinter Perhaps if the players did as they are expected/told to, then there wouldn't be some much time wasted at free kicks???
English

@henrywinter Why is there no clamour for “lost time” over direct free kicks? Is it snobbery of ability needed to score from these different set pieces, the fact that refs are also wasting time at them with setting walls? Just add time on and stop complaining and downplaying skill imo.
English

@DanHarvey74 Doumbia is completely self controlled compared to el capitan. Imran is targeted week after week because teams know he'll bite. Take John Barnes's approach to the kicking etc. Just chill - they're doing it because they know you're too good for them.
English

Why has this not been reported previously? Saw the incident, slightly harsh, bet Ipswich made something of it afterwards, why are our players so impetuous?
Watford Football Club@WatfordFC
ℹ️ Mamadou Doumbia is absent as he serves the first game of a three-match suspension after admitting to a charge of violent conduct against Ipswich Town.
English

@shobhit211221 @kohlichronicles And in the process, make yourself look like one of your target audience?
English

@TC_1963 @kohlichronicles So that some dumb British fans can understand it easily. 😂
English

@shobhit211221 @kohlichronicles So why did you explain it incorrectly??? 🤣🤣🤣
English

@TC_1963 @kohlichronicles That much I know . This was just to explain how this should have been 5 not 6 runs .
English

@shobhit211221 @kohlichronicles Whilst it is 5 runs (and fortunately for England it was given as 6), it's NOT a single + 4 byes. All five (or in this case six) runs would be credited to the batter.
English

@kohlichronicles This was a mistake by umpires . It should have only been 5 runs .. single + 4 byes but the umpires screwed up and NZL was robbed this World Cup .

@DNSYE_podcast The year is 2050, and the EFL playoffs have been expanded to include 24 teams...

What do you make of this? Good idea/bad idea? 🤔

English

@thearwrites @Mostlykohli Tells us you don't understand the Law, without telling us you don't understand the Law...
English

😂 It’s actually out,and the funny part is how confidently people are wrong.
Under Law 27 (Wicket-keeper), the keeper can break the stumps with the ball in hand or with the hand holding the ball.
Right hand holding the ball, left hand breaks the stumps = perfectly legal.
Shocking how loud the crying is on Twitter when the law is crystal clear.
Seriously… not a single Indian bothered to check the rulebook? 😭🏏
That’s Khawaja Nafay doing it by the book.
English

Pakistan just invented a new law for wicketkeeping 😭😭
Pak keeper Khawaja Nafay held the ball in his right hand and stumped with his left hand. Absolute jokers🤣

@SteveChesters6 @secondtierpod If you talk to fans of a certain age, they'll know about the "bomb-burst" free kick routine.
English

@TC_1963 @secondtierpod Yep. I'm obviously aware of how incredible he was, didn't know he was a freekick specialist though. I'll have a look!
English

@SteveChesters6 @secondtierpod You're obviously fairly young - as there is only one correct answer to this - John Barnes.
English

@secondtierpod Probably Ashley Young. Shame it's not current because I think Irankunda would be up there
English

@The_Forty_Four @MrChrisFoy It's not a silly rule. The old saying about walking a mile in a man's shoes applies here. How many matches have you officiated? The level of abuse officials receive would not be tolerated in any other workplace. Rugby, hockey, cricket and endless other sports don't stand for it.
English

@BhushanManmath @adi25611 And fans remember disrespecting the game.
English

@adi25611 Exactly. Scorecards remember runs, opponents remember trauma 😄 Stats tell how much, impact tells when and where.

IMAGINE THINKING ROOT IS BETTER THAN SMITH.
Joe Root just hit 160. Great. He’s tied with Ponting at 41 tons. Fantastic. But let’s be real: Root is playing a different game than Steve Smith. 🙄
While Root spent the last two years racking up hundreds on flat tracks to fix his stats, Smith just walked into the SCG and:
• Passed Sir Don Bradman for the most runs ever scored against England (5,085!).
• Passed Jack Hobbs to become the #2 Ashes run-scorer of all time.
• Hit his 37th century in fewer innings than Sachin Tendulkar.
Root is a master of volume, but Smith is the master of destruction. Root scores runs when the sun is out; Smith scores runs to break English hearts and rewrite the history books. 🇦🇺
You can keep your "consistent accumulation." I’ll take the man who only has the Don left to catch.
Smith > Root. It’s not a debate anymore; it’s a fact.
