We all work mightily to look competent on paper… …but we still can struggle with basic life skills. Like apologizing without making it worse. Or remembering a name 60 seconds after hearing it. We obsess over credentials. We neglect competence. Here's the list of “how tos” I wish someone gave me earlier. 🧵👇

A mistake is only a mistake until you learn something from it. Then, it becomes a lesson.

Not a single worthwhile thing in life is built by accident. - A happy relationship - Healthy confidence - A strong family - A successful business - A thriving society - A positive reputation - Mental or physical health - Education - A strong body - A powerful presence - An elegant public image - A respected name, legacy, or dynasty All of it requires consistent daily effort that is intentional, relentless, and driven by purpose. Many lives have been lived passively, watching the years melt away and wondering what could have been. Only the great ones, though, have been built on purpose, by purpose, and with purpose.

Perception is reality. The human brain uses the 5 senses to create a story about the world around us that we represent to ourselves as "reality." We do the same thing about people, and that means that people are doing it with us, too.

Jeff Bezos once said: "Only making three high-quality, high-impact decisions per day is enough." The key concept is to make fewer but more important decisions and avoid decision fatigue. But that's why I don't get why so many entrepreneurs are caught up in biohacking. They track their HRV, deep sleep and 10.000 other metrics, which just costs you mental capacity. Don't get me wrong. I also spend thousands every month on my health: A personal trainer who tells me exactly how to train and what to eat. And a personal chef who prepares every meal according to my trainer's specifications. I literally just have to open my fridge and grab a spoon. Sure they help me to stay healthy and save a lot of time, but maybe even more importantly: They save me mental capacity. Because they help me to make fewer decisions. Let's be real: If you make enough money, you are able to buy back your time. But then you realize: Your focus and mental capacity are even more limited. And as a CEO you are responsible for the direction of your company. And the less decisions you have to make, the more clarity and capacity you have. Which becomes an increasingly important competitive advantage, when everyone gets more distracted.

Deception by omission often sounds true but hides the reality. Telling part of the truth can be just as misleading as lying.

I’m aggressive when trying to get to the root of a conversation thread but what stops me from going full blown schizo is in the KNOWING of the depth and quality of answer that I am looking for.. so I know when to stop. but for many years I did not know. when all you've known is breadcrumbs and vague BS it’s hard to know when you’ve landed on a quality answer This is where faith and changing behaviors must come first before your self awareness and consciousness can expand. It’s really simple You start with doubling down once. Then twice. Then 3x. 4x until you EXPERIENCE the quality difference in their answers at every level. Develop the language so you can switch up how you do it. You will be changed forever after that and will temporarily hate yourself for not having done it sooner
