I pray that white Americans will remember the weeks following George Floyd’s death for decades to come. This feels too significant not to be a major inflection point in waking up to the everpresent racism, the pain of those living as black bodies, and our complicity in all of it.

@NateSilver538 Where self reported data is > proportionately to test data, you know that geo is at risk for an outbreak as there may be many mild-symptom carriers not on the testing radar (thinking of the Ohio example where health commissioner estimated 100k+ had the virus a few weeks back)

The @BernieSanders campaign has stopped actively raising money for his candidacy- but instead used his vast online donor network to raise cash for five different charities. In the last 48 hours Sanders has raised $2 million for groups hit hard by the Coronavirus crisis.

Thinking about the likelihood of some form of government payout for all citizens. What an opportunity/responsibility people like myself (who are able to earn our normal income remotely) have to utilize that money to help those disproportionately affected by present circumstances.

In the absence of a government mandate, these decisions are coming out of a personal choice to minimize potential harm to those who are vulnerable at the direct cost to their own livelihood. I admire and feel immense gratitude for these people.

I can only trust that in the story of interconnectedness, these generous souls will be taken care of. I hope those of us with incomes that don’t change can find ways to support these places and these people when they choose to close their doors to help broader humanity.

I feel deeply sad for places and practitioners of human flourishing that are stuck between wanting to close down to do their part to slow #COVID and the reality that their livelihood is often month-to-month because they open their doors to everyone regardless of income.

It's at times like these that the vast disparities in wealth seem so painfully clear. Who can avoid crowded subways? Who can work from home and still receive a paycheck? Who can stock up on medicines and extra food? Which folks have laptops at home so the kids can learn remotely?

The World Health Organization has announced that dogs cannot contract Covid-19. Dogs previously held in quarantine can now be released. To be clear, WHO let the dogs out.
