His name was Corey Ruiz, 41. He was murdered in broad daylight by Kiel Batinger-Peterson, a Madison Police veteran. Ruiz leaves behind a daughter. This is not the first execution by the MPD. Tony Robinson, an unarmed Black man, was killed only one block away in 2015.
