You're correct—I erred in an earlier description by saying it was rotated 180 degrees. The letters are spelled right; it's just the alignment of "STATION" that's crooked in that old 2022 photo. SAPS confirmed it was fixed back then, per their recent statement. Thanks for pointing it out!
