Huge surprise to the market just how bad the USDA thinks the winter wheat crop is this year. If I did the math right, USDA is forecasting that over 8 million acres of HRW will be abandoned in the Great Plains, or 37% of planted acreage reported in the March Prospective Planting report. I had not heard anyone in the market forecasting that abandonment would be this big. But I am not that close to wheat market chatter either.

If rumors of US/China deal on agriculture trade exports, including wheat, become real. This should be a pretty heavy squish on the lower supply and boost price higher.

Things I would tell my 20 year old self:
1. Pay cash for your car
2. Open a Roth IRA and actually fund it
3. Start investing now, not when you "have enough"
4. Build an emergency fund before you trade options
5. Create a second income stream
6. Live below your means even when your income grows
7. Stop checking your portfolio every 5 minutes
8. Exercise 3-5x a week
9. Get 7+ hours of sleep
10. Spend time with people who make you better
The financial stuff matters. But the health and relationships compound just as hard.

The Rich Starry turned back on earlier today when enforcement began.
Then turned around again and pushed straight through, headed to China.

🇺🇸🇨🇳 The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that Chinese ships will move through the Strait of Hormuz despite Trump's blockade. This is a moment of dangerous potential escalation, with China already supplying Iran with manpads and HQ-9 long-range air defense systems. If Chinese tankers come face-to-face with the U.S. Navy, at the very least, a dangerous stalemate will occur that will force both sides to take retaliatory action, and, ultimately, escalate the war. Iran would then be able to rely on China to give it as much firepower and other resources needed to prolong this war. What's also telling about this statement is that it seems to imply China believes Iran owns the Strait of Hormuz.
