@DodgersMemeTeam Him, Plaschke and even TJ Simers back in the day, were cute doomer acts back in the day when the Dodgers were a perpetual disappointment, but it’s a different era, their negatively of the club now just comes off as bitter and distasteful.

@BillLeeds @Mochalo619 @KodyDuncanPGH One of the most overblown things ever like a bunch of teams were affected by the Diamond Sports bankruptcy, the loan was paid off immediately…they are one of the most successful franchises when it comes to revenue and have turned profits because THEY INVESTED IN THEIR PRODUCT!

@TonyGwynn99 @Rumorxli @KodyDuncanPGH I hate the Padres and the bridge loan thing is one of the most misunderstood things ever. They paid it off immediately and it had zero impact to their operations.

@northsiden0tch Expexting teams to identify talent and take risks on contracts….is….like just part of running a team.

“As long as these small market teams identify their top talent and take a big risk when the players are 20-years old, the system works fine.”
Colin Beazley@colin_beazley

I asked MLBPA interim executive director Bruce Meyer about this exact interaction and the belief that a salary cap system is the best way for small market teams to retain their players: "That's just not true. ... I hear that, and what about Bobby Witt? What about Julio Rodriguez? What about JJ Wetherholt, who we just saw? What about Konnor Griffin and Kevin McGonigle? Samuel Basallo? Jackson Chourio? Corbin Carroll? So this notion that 'oh my God, small market teams can't keep their players,' it's just not true. It's not true. They are keeping them. They are keeping them. And they can. And ones who choose not to, can afford to do it. They can afford to do it. "I didn't read that article, but I heard something about that comment. I think it's a tremendous disservice to Paul. Paul is the ultimate professional. Paul loves the game. I don't know who made that comment, but it's a very flippant kind of comment. But we'll see. "Players want to be treated fairly, and they want to play the teams that they think are trying to win. Whether big market, small market, they want to be in places where they and their families are comfortable, and they want to be convinced that the team is actually trying to win. ... If there's a team that's not trying to do that and not trying to provide the best experience for players, that team is going to suffer in trying to attract players. "But there's nobody with more integrity than Paul Skenes. And at the end of the day, he's going to do what he needs to, right, using the rights that players and generations have fought for."

@chrismartenson His chance to get away was when the bison was tangling with the tree, easier said than done but that bison probably gave him 5-7 seconds to escape.

Pro tip from a friend with bison: if the tail starts wagging vigorously, trouble is on the way. When the tail goes straight up, it's too late, trouble has arrived. Watch the tail.

@JustBB_Media One Prospect for Prospect trade I can see is trying to get Thomas White from the Marlins. LA has historically targeted minor leaguers they have drafted or wanted to draft and I believe White was their target in ‘23 before the Marlins swooped in. The two teams line up well too.

With how much outfield depth the Dodgers have in their organization, LA can get ANYONE they want at the trade deadline

@baseballbatbros @TheChrisHart 90 percent of the kids playing HS ball have no dreams or thoughts of playing in college…if a drop 4,5, 6 helps some kids who have skills enough to play have a fun time and create some memories who cares, people have become such miserable hags.

@TheChrisHart Have you watched high school baseball in most of America? Sure there are some outliers, but most 14/15/16 y/o kids have a really hard time swinging a -3 effectively.

I actually FIRMLY agree with this. I already fundamentally disagree with letting 8th graders swing drop 5’s because it creates a false sense of reality, both in the kids and the parents, that the kid is a good hitter when he hasn’t even had to swing a real baseball bat. This is a cop out and scape goat, and to reiterate what Justin said, equipment shouldn’t be easier to swing. We are removing the need for work ethic in a world that already has a huge lack of it. Get in the weight room. Learn how to adapt. Don’t give the kids an out. Disappointing from a great org.
Justin Gominsky@GoGoGominsky22

I couldn’t disagree with this more. Hope @USABaseball has a great legal team. Player development shouldn’t be about making equipment easier to swing, it should be about building stronger, more athletic players. Get in the weight room. Earn the bigger bat. A lot of high school players would be better off with a 31” or 32” than forcing a 33”.

@baseballbatbros @TheChrisHart The greatest injustice perpetrated upon hard working humans who push themselves to pursue greatness is the lowering of the standards for those who don’t deserve it… if you can’t swing the bat then you’re either not good enough or not good enough YET! Earn it damnit!
