I understand math, I do it for a living. If you took 30 seconds to read part of the thread that follows my initial post, you’d at least have some context to my argument - EV/player safety aren’t my main contention points. But you’d rather play a game of gotcha and try to dunk on random accounts, instead of having a normal conversation.

@shawntcuff Yeah would be great in an ideal world, but like you said not the same business model and it would be a bigger financial burden on a lot of programs, parents, etc. There would be so many broken bats.

@shawntcuff that “most” players won’t produce increases to EV that lead to higher safety concerns, but I would argue that even a 1% increase isn’t worth it.

A lot of layers to it, imo. If the spirit of the changes are to keep smaller players in the game longer (I think it’s packaged as that to sell more bats) , then it should be limited to JV baseball. To think only undersized players are going to use drop-6 is a bit naive. All players will do what benefits them, swing lighter bats when it suits them vs better pitching, when they’re struggling with swing decisions, etc. That ultimately alters the playing field and competitive integrity within the game and rewards worse players with bad mechanics/approach at the plate. Some people might scoff at that and think HS baseball isn’t a big deal, but there are big HS programs and players all over the country and we’ve got to have thresholds at some point. The reality is that next steps for many players are high level college and pro baseball (for now). This whole thing muddies the waters in evaluation/recruitment for both hitters and pitchers. As far as player safety goes, I’ve seen a lot of sentiment

@RyanCohen24 @madflabby Those aren’t coming without some swing changes. His current operation, leaves him incapable of pulling much of anything in the air with any type of authority - def not fastballs.

Great story on one of my best friends @_TylerWagner_ and his journey to the big leagues. Grateful for @utahscout1219 perspective. He helped create buzz and opportunities for a lot of guys in the Vegas area.

All college players and a generational talent. Less affiliates + FO brass getting their picks to the bigs before they get themselves canned + D1 player development systems having been ahead of A LOT of MLB orgs have all contributed.

I will never understand teams calling up top prospects and burying them in the bottom of the lineup - thinking they’re protecting them. Wouldn’t you want to make them as comfortable as possible to promote success asap? Game could be close to an hour in before KG gets an at-bat.

@BFW @Blutman27 Most LV locals stuck with their NFL team, so unless you were already a Raider fan a majority of their fans just come in from Cali every weekend. In terms of local fans, VGK > Raiders and I don’t think it’s even close. The SEC mind cannot comprehend.

I need examples of a US city with at least three pro sports teams where the NHL team is top two in fandom in the city. Boys here said Detroit, DC and Tampa. I think I’ll give them DC and Tampa, but contest Detroit. Some guys said Minnesota, I think Twins are bigger than Wild.

So if I’m interpreting WBC tiebreaker correctly, if Italy-Mexico goes to extras tied at 4-4, then Italy should just not score T10, let Mexico sac bunt - get an out at first and then throw a wild pitch to lose 5-4 and advance? Lol
