With temperatures forecasted to drop across the UK over the next few days, it’s important to make sure that we’re looking out for our loved ones living with dementia. Winter can be a particularly difficult time for somebody living with dementia. The bad weather and colder temperatures can bring specific challenges, and can sometimes make symptoms temporarily worse. They may not always be able to communicate that they are cold – or they might not even recognise it themselves. Perception issues can also make it difficult for someone with dementia to see icy patches on a pavement or understand that a surface may be extra slippery. So make sure to check in regularly on loved ones, friends and neighbours living with dementia, and follow our useful tips to help support them through the winter. For more tips on how to support a person living with dementia in the cold weather, visit spkl.io/6012AjkMY.

It's officially #PancreaticCancerAwarenessMonth! 💜 Pancreatic cancer is hard to diagnose and difficult to treat, so early detection can help save lives. Symptoms can be vague and may vary. But by raising awareness, more people will know the signs to look out for.

Next week is #StressAwarenessWeek. The smallest of actions can help alleviate stress: 🚶‍♀️Take a walk. 🫂 Talk to someone. 📚Take some time to do an activity you enjoy, such as reading. Stress affects us all, but it doesn't have to control us! #MentalHealthMatters

Excellent piece from @hannahsbee Very pleased for the Leeds families, who have fought so hard for this, but what next? An inquiry into Oxford? A national inquiry? Or wait to see what Baroness Amos delivers? newstatesman.com/politics/healt…
