@RobinhoodCSE1 APLA and ACL have been greatly undervalued for a significant period of time. The amount of current assets they possessed in excess of Total debt obligations was truly startling. So many Financials were too good for this stock to be overlooked. Finally, The herd joined in

@RobinhoodCSE1 True. Many Twitter pundits nowadays downplay important basic financial metrics and encourage retailers to chase grossly overvalued stocks. Sad Part is these retailers actually solemnly believe this nonsense.

Always check value indicators such as P/E, PBV, DY n also Top SHs. Then you will not get easily fooled in the markets! You mostly win! ✅💸

My comment about V & NV saga (NFA)! It's true that NV gives better Div yield. I see value CINS, CDB NV & pays good dividends. But මල්🌸 n laughs👄 low/no div yields does not add any value for NV. If you check the Top 20 SH you might suspect the origin of this saga!

@SriLankaBitcoin @waw1949 @samadsaleem9 @rangaba On the other hand, Gold has been in existence for thousands of years and it is deemed as their real store of value since it has real world utilities as well. This is not to say that Digital assets should be disregarded. I myself am interested in several digital assets.

CenBanks are buying gold as hedge against falling$ due to expected US inflation;BankofPoland bought 34MT last week doubling its holdings & plan to buy further 100MT in 22;RBI too bought 29MT increasing holdings to 705MT;SL sold 13MT in 2/20&reducing its to 6.5& is a game loser

@waw1949 @samadsaleem9 @rangaba I agree. The dollar is weakening day by day but the federal reserve claims this occurence to be transitory which is a pretence. The true value of gold hasn’t been reflected in the market yet due to the discovery of other safe havens.

@EshiniEK @waw1949 @wasaba Unfortunately, adopting a credible inflation-targeting regime requires the CB to be indepedent. I cannot see that taking place with the government in power and Cabraal as the head of the CB. Coomaraswamy was one of the few governors who espoused an independent CB.

It does call for higher taxes and lower spending during times of inflation (Keynesian Economics in disguise) but governments who practice such policies are

@SenalFernando98 A big portion of the burden will be passed on to the consumers in more liberal countries and as a result, the Top Line wouldn’t be as affected. Bottom line does seem as if it’s going to be affected with the expected rise of interest rates in order to curb inflation!
