i bought my first Pikachu card in 22 months this week Thought i was done with Pokemon, but a close friend of mine talked me into it and here we are :)

Second, is the one I wasn’t going to lose. Fortunately, the other party yielded. This one actually cost me exactly 25% more than the Ruth. ;) The 1960 Venezuelan Topps Tattoos Warren Spahn. I say “the” with emphasis as it’s the only one graded for him in any condition.

First, the Ruth. I’m enjoying the M101-x series more and more. This is my 3rd M101-7 as I have the Hornsby from a pre-arranged Strongsville deal and picked up the Cuyler a couple weeks back. The image on this is stunning. 15% of the price of the more popular/plentiful Goudey.

Pumped about the pickups from Heritage last night. I hope to be able to pick these up directly from Heritage to avoid mail delivery risk as one of these is literally the only example I’ve ever seen and the other is Ruth. ;) So glad I couldn’t care less about condition anymore.

Victory formation. Price went up more than 2x during extended, so “victory” is relative. Time for sleep.

One victory so far. This last one is going to hurt. We keep going round and round. That’s what happens when two player collectors lock horns when a literal one of a kind item comes up for sale. Great for the AH and the consignor. Sleep is overrated.

The highs and lows of extended bidding are no joke. Need to lock in.

@surgieboi Always a risk with TCG. For my vintage cards, they are typically rare enough where I would know based on condition.

So if I buy a card on eBay that requires authentication, then have it submitted for psa grading through eBay at checkout, then have it vaulted at psa, I may see it in 12-14 months if I want to minimize the withdraw fee psa charges. At my age, that’s just not happening.

@Davelikesdisc The only drawback to collecting ungraded cards for me is I forget what I have more so than graded cards since I can add psa and sgc cards to my inventory in their apps. I also like the pics they provide for newer certs.

@THACardStory that's not even fun which is the point of all this isn't it? just buy raw, collect raw and ignore all that nonsense

2000 Topps Gold Label The Treasury One to One (1/1)

Grateful for getting @CardLadder pro as part of the “Collectors Club”. It’s a great resource for quickly pricing the boys’ Pokemon slabs before every show. I had intentions of submitting cards to @PSAcard for them in Chicago at the show again this year, but that ended today.

@steelcitydw True story. Regular “service” was 20-25 days when I paid $79.99 to get this back “quickly” in February. Here’s hoping I hold this thing by Christmas after vaulting as I have been in Assembly and now QA checks purgatory for well over a month.

@THACardStory Someday I'll get to hold that card I bought on Ebay. Someday. 🤔

New psa turnaround times are interesting. Now that we vend, the question I am going to ask my boys is do we simply not grade or do we have to potentially miss out on buying cards that come to our table because we have to offer a lower % on cards we take in with intent to grade.
