@jennifer_zilla @mrbrianrowe No, it was from Feb 24th, 2026. Ordinarily I’d say this wouldn’t have an impact, but this story has been following him SINCE it happened and his refusal to address it has amplified/overshadowed his “perceived” frontrunner status.

@mrbrianrowe He made the opera comments in 2019 so how exactly did he fumble this himself? In my opinion Michael B Jordan is going to win on a really inappropriate sympathy vote because hollywood thinks his life is harder than a man with Tourette’s. And I loved Sinners. That’s just the tea.

If Timothée Chalamet loses the Oscar on Sunday night like many of us are predicting, that will truly be an all-timer fumble for someone who weeks ago seemed to have Best Actor locked up. He had the performance, box office hit, Best Picture nominee, big wins in January. Just wow.

@PhysicsBoyt @jennifer_zilla @mrbrianrowe Yeah, they happened the last week of voting (but a lot of members) wait until the last minute to finalize their votes. Could have an impact if they get a bad taste in their mouth, could also only marginally affect his “perceived” frontrunner status. Timing matters.

@mrbrianrowe Well-deserved. I also loved Sissy Spacek that year. But my heart always wanted Berry to win and when she did I probably cried more than she did (if that’s possible). I’ve rewatched her acceptance speech over the years when my inspiration-meter is running low.

How many Oscar nominations do you think Sinners will receive next year?

@mrbrianrowe I certainly hope so. It’s a very dynamic performance, physically and emotionally. It deserves recognition no matter people’s take on the film itself (which, I actually quite liked). I’d hate to see it overlooked, but lots of great work from leading actresses this year as a whole

Do you think despite a couple big misses Angelina Jolie will still get the Oscar nomination for Best Actress?

FUN FACT: Each of us who support Kamala are de facto surrogates for her campaign. So we have to have the talking points at the ready to answer questions or criticism about her or her campaign. So here are a few at the ready: 1) She didn’t pass any great things as VP:

Jennifer Lopez told @deadline that she would self-finance SCREAM 7 if Spyglass let her play Christina Carpenter, she got to be in every single scene, and if they filmed exclusively on the block she grew up in The Bronx.

@PNemiroff Please tell me you and @joelmeares are going to do a video chat about the @ScreamMovies and the recent fallout with the studio, Melissa, and Jenna. I need someone to virtually grieve with about the future of the franchise. 😭😭😭

SCREAM with Ryan C Showers Podcast@SCREAMwithRCS

What I love about SCREAM 2 -> •The best Gale Weathers ever. She dominates the film and her transformation from bad to good is incredible. Some of the best acting in Courteney Cox’s career. •Wes Craven demonstrates his grand & expert skills as a director. So much of what makes 2 great is the suspense and staging by Wes in the more lightly written moments. •The 8-9 set pieces are impeccable. They feel naturally integrated into the story. •The technical & production values are an upgrade. It is the most “high brow” artsy entry of the series. •Neve Campbell’s ability as an actress improves from the first film, and 2 is where most she is able to develop Sidney’s personality. •Cotton Weary is the best red herring of the franchise and one of the most complex & important characters in the original trilogy. •Filmmaking integrity: 2 took the risk of killing Randy because it was necessary to push forward to the trilogy climax. I cannot imagine a world where Randy survives; the story, Sidney’s trilogy arc, and Gale’s 2 arc would have stagnated. •Epic finale and wonderful killers: Laurie Metcalf is camp perfection as Mrs. Loomis, and Mickey is the most original killer in the series. •The character-centric melodrama is what makes Scream 2 special to me, personally. •There is not a weak link in the vast cast ensemble. All of the characters feel like real human beings.   •Overall, it’s a faultless bridge entry between act one and act three of the larger original trilogy storyline.

@fromhellkitchen @RubyCreated @amreetnat @coffinsnails @TheAcademy If it were everyday people voting for the Oscars (like w/ “People’s Choice”) I’d say Avatar 2 in a heartbeat. This is the Academy Awards, though. They don’t vote for films like Avatar over the others I mentioned for BP to win. I’ve done the research. Avatar wins VFX, not BP

@fromhellkitchen @RubyCreated @amreetnat @coffinsnails @TheAcademy I admire your confidence. I’ll report back March 12th when Avatar 2 loses Best Picture. It’s not even Top 5 to win. Everything Everywhere, The Fabelmans, Banshees, All Quiet, TÁR are in front. Never go with what you WANT to win when betting, go with the patterns of the voters.
