Sikh Americans burned the Indian Flag in front of the San Francisco India Consulate in protest of India’s transnational assassination program. India has violently suppressed minority communities including Christians, Sikhs, Muslims & Dalits without international scrutiny.

The India-EU trade deal is extremely concerning given India’s documented democratic decline. Partnerships must uphold human rights, including protections for Sikh and other minorities, and must not legitimize the criminalization of Sikh Punjabi self-determination.

Longtime Sikh Activist Bapu Surat Singh has passed away. Surat Singh began his hunger-strike in 2015 for the release Sikh political prisoners. He was routinely detained & force fed by Indian authorities. He was 91 years old.
