The comments of Hillary Benn are a deliberate effort to meddle in ongoing legal proceedings. He is well aware the imposition of divisive Irish language at Grand Central Station is subject to legal proceedings, therefore it is wholly inappropriate that he would purport to offer comment on the matter in the one sided and misguided way in which he has. Mr Benn has no understanding of the unionist and loyalist community, which is hardly surprising given he spends most of his time visiting Irish language centres and nationalist pet projects. It is clear that despite early hope, Mr Benn is not an even broker and, following the standard position of the NIO, has shown himself to be more interested in appeasing nationalism and the Irish Government than he is about showing respect for the views and concerns of the unionist and loyalist community. Mr Benn’s comments done nothing only further enrage the unionist and loyalist community and he should keep his nose out of matters which are none of his business, and for the avoidance of doubt, this is one such issue. @NIOgov @hilarybennmp
