20 years ago, I wanted to be Hermione Granger. The 2nd Harry Potter movie came out and PhDs made the same I make now. #SupportOurScience because 20 years was long enough for me to figure out that being a witch wasn’t a really career choice and now… neither is being a scientist

Sadly, the brain drain is already underway. In 2019, 38% of freshly minted PhDs were immediately leaving for better opportunities outside of Canada. Those numbers are likely higher today. The brain drain in just PhDs is costing our economy at least $740M/year #SupportOurScience
