My wife and I are lay members of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT). Many of you know Sister Miriam from the Hallow app and Youtube who is a member of SOLT. These are missionary priests and sisters working in areas of deepest apostolic need. These priests, sisters and laity working in missionary assignments need your prayers. Specifically, they need you to offer up your suffering(s) in prayer for them. Attached is a sign up sheet that you can sign and fill out. Make a photo copy of the completed form and send it to this email address: missionaryofmercysolt@gmail.com Anyone who signs up will get quarterly updates about SOLT and their missions. But, more importantly, the priests will say masses for everyone enrolled in this 'missionaries of mercy' program. Your contact information will not be shared with anyone and not used for solicitation of money. God Bless.

@CoffinMedia Divorce is a curse upon the kids. Studies show outcomes are better for children raised in toxic marriages where the couple stays married than those in families that divorce. A spouse in a toxic marriage ought to get help for sure, like Hearts & Souls. Divorce is not the way.

Deadly marital toxicity doesn't come at once. It wraps itself in history & "but we've been through so much." Just because you built a family together doesn't mean you must stay broken together. You can love your children fiercely & still walk away from what is destroying you.

Marco Rubio aligns closely with Catholic teaching on core life issues: he's strongly pro-life (opposes abortion, even in rape/incest cases) and has defended traditional marriage as between one man and one woman. Areas of tension for some Catholics include his support for the death penalty (Church teaching under recent popes calls it inadmissible) and emphasis on border security/mass deportations, which critics say conflicts with the Church's focus on migrant dignity and welcoming the stranger. Many issues like economics and immigration details allow for prudential disagreement among faithful Catholics. Deeds vs. words is fair to debate, but specifics matter.

There is no true global priest shortage in the Catholic Church—only uneven distribution. Africa and India, for example, currently produce many vocations, resulting in some dioceses having more priests than immediate local parishes can fully utilize. This is not accidental. God does not simply distribute priests according to human calculations of “need.” Instead, He calls and forms priests in places where faith remains vibrant, families are strong, and hearts are more open to His voice. In regions where the Church is growing rapidly and the Gospel is embraced with fervor—often in the Global South—God raises up numerous vocations as a sign of His blessing and as a reservoir of missionary energy for the universal Church. These “surplus” priests are not wasted; they represent a divine strategy: forming holy, zealous clergy in crucibles of lively faith before sending them out, much like the early Church sent apostles from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. It falls to the Vatican, bishops, and the whole Church to discern and facilitate this movement—to reassign or support these priests where the sacramental needs are greatest, especially in aging dioceses of the West facing secular decline. Blaming external factors or complaining about a “shortage” while ignoring God’s providence in these flourishing vocation hotspots risks working against the very pattern the Lord has established. True fidelity means recognizing where God is clearly at work, stewarding those gifts, and courageously redistributing His servants for the good of the entire Body of Christ.

With all due respect to Catholic Answers, @catholiccom, they should keep in mind that the bishops voted not to refuse the Eucharist to politicians who support abortion, on the grounds that doing so would be using the Eucharist for political purposes. So for consistency’s sake, JD Vance’s position aligns more closely with the bishops than with Catholic Answers. Only by ignoring this fact can Catholic Answers’ critique stand. To put it plainly: the bishops voted that avoiding political entanglement overrides the duty to protect souls — and that is itself a moral statement on their part. We also know Bishop Strickland was removed from his diocese for being “too political.” So JD Vance is saying nothing more than what the Church has already said and done — the Strickland case being a clear example — about the dangers of “getting political.”

This was rough to hear from a public Catholic. The pope has every right to speak on politics and public affairs, because politics concerns man and the common good, and every facet of those realities belongs under the judgment of God.

JD Vance on President Trump's criticism of Pope Leo XIV: "In some cases, it would be best for the Vatican to stick to matters of morality and what's going on in the Catholic Church and let the president of the U.S. stick to dictating American public policy."

The Catechism says the same thing firmly. It teaches that every institution is shaped by some vision of man and his destiny, which means public life is never spiritually neutral, and it further states that the Church may pass moral judgments “even in matters related to politics” (CCC 2246) whenever fundamental rights or the salvation of souls are at stake. vatican.va/content/catech…

@grok @RealMattFradd So, is it possible that an AI image creation tool could have misrepresented the user’s request to create an image depicting himself as a as a Red Cross figure saving a group of people?

My description is based solely on the image's visual details: Trump in a white robe and red shawl, with a glowing hand emitting divine light on the sick man's head, surrounded by eagles, ascending soldier figures in heavenly rays, American flags, and patriotic symbols. This composition mirrors classic messianic religious art, not a standard Red Cross medical scene. Trump's claim reflects his interpretation of the AI output after posting it, but the artwork's iconography speaks for itself.

It's a stylized, dramatic artwork portraying Trump in a Christ-like, messianic role—white robe, red shawl, glowing hand "healing" a sick man with divine light rays, surrounded by eagles, soldiers ascending to heaven, American flag, Statue of Liberty, and patriotic symbols. Not a Red Cross worker; the nurse is just a supporting figure. It's meant to evoke a savior image for Trump amid national themes.

I wish I could give this multiple likes. We need more dialogue. There is so much fruitfulness in the Catholic faith. If only more prominent Catholics would invite this kind of dialogue we might have a better chance of explaining the faith to otters. May God bless you for this and may the Holy Spirit descend upon you and Tim Pool in dialogue.

USS Tripoli (LHA 7) conducts night flight operations while sailing in the Arabian Sea. Tripoli is designed without a traditional well deck, which allows for more F-35B Lightning II stealth fighters, MV-22 Ospreys, helicopters, and extra maintenance space. During peak operations, the ship can surge to support up to 20+ F-35Bs.
