@Stopper88MD @BBCNews I agree it is a lot to ask but BSL is a recognised language, is it unreasonable to ask for a basic level? Just saying hello, name what? hospital, poorly etc helping until an interpreter is available to take over. It is a big ask but not an unreasonable one for very basic level.

@TLC_Network @BBCNews I completely agree that access to another/ better alternative needs to be available. My only point is to those asking for all paramedics to trained in BSL. That’s just unrealistic and disproportionate. Where would it stop? Would they need to learn various other languages as well?

We attended a session with @WirralCouncil on Friday talking about: 1. Quality of #SEND provision 2. The Local Offer 3. All age #disability service 4. Commissioning It was a great session with parent #carers being listened to and working together to #coproduce #future services

@Stopper88MD @BBCNews Deaf people do not write in English so pen and paper would not be ok. The NHS needs to have a proper contract in place with BSL interpreters. With other languages you can get language line on the phone but that’s not available for Deaf people (for obvious reasons)

@BBCNews I’m very sorry for their loss, but asking for all Em. Services to learn BSL is unreasonable and disproportionate to the chances of having to use it without other means available, ie. Pen & paper/ phone. They’d also need regular refreshers on top of all the other training they do.

You don't have to wait for school to apply for an EHCP, you can apply yourself if you have the evidence they will need the support to succeed. children are being failed because of lack of resources and funding schools have available #EHCP #School #SEND #Support

Getting the support your child needs does not have to cost you money. You don't have to struggle alone when we have fully trained volunteers. We are always looking to expand our team and have volunteer slots available for anyone interested #SEND #Support

EHCP assessments are taking over a year @WirralCouncil with children suffering in provisions that are unsuitable. A solution needs to be found urgently, assessments are just not being done properly missing out important professionals like OT, SALT, social care #EHCP
