@TimWillers @BrandoVanHuizen There is a lot to do! I like that the story line isn't just linear and is open wold (yay side quests!). I also like the art but would have liked distinct biomes (the collectable plants could different in the forest, desert, and mountain areas).

4 reasons why Sphagnum is the next Halloween Monster: 1) You can cut it up in tiny pieces and spread it out and it will still grow back 2) It releases acid and slowly kills everything around it 3) It grows on to of its dead ancestors 4) Bog bodies!! Need I say more?

Is leftover pumpkin pie an appropriate breakfast for somebody who sits in front of a computer all day? Asking for a friend…

Dear academics, I am looking for #postdoctoral positions in the #water field. My major field is about modeling #hydrological variables using brand-new time series models and data-driven techniques. I am open to work remotely or in your office. Please help me find the right team.

I have no one in the lab so I have to keep sharing. Five cm further down. This is the grossest weirdest core ever. the black stuff feels gritty???

Fun fact, reindeer lichen coexists with sphagnum not just at the surface, but in this core appears to be intermingled all through the acrotelm. It also smells TERRIBLE

I think one of the hardest parts of lockdown is that it isn't a lockdown on everything. My lab mates have achieved AMAZING things since March but we haven't been able to celebrate them in the same way. A virtual goodbye in a lab meeting is not the same when someone graduates.

Day 3 #CYHScovidConf we are talking about science lessons learned. Since lockdown I have learned how important lab mates and lab culture are to me!! Science is so collaborative and I miss being able to roll my chair over and ask unending questions to my office mates.

@RagnhildGya I miss all of these things as well! Colleagues help us progress so much as people and as scientists!
