Without notice, I was let go from Hogs on SI today and it had nothing to do with my peformance.
The contract with our publisher was terminated. Instead of keeping a staff in place or allowing the site to stay active, they locked us out.
For the past four years, I’ve started my day at 4:30 AM to write 2-3 stories each morning before heading to the pharmacy for my 10-hour shift.
I’m furious over the decision, but understand it’s out of my control.
But I know my time covering the Hogs is far from over.
As for Andy and Kent, they took a chance on a blogger/podcaster and turned me into a better reporter/columnist and overall writer.
I’ll be forever grateful to them, and owe much of my success because of their guidance.
Y’all keep me in your prayers that I follow God’s lead, not mine as I continue this journey in sports media.
