@NeurIPSConf Also she used some unverified source of information to make a huge implication targeting a group of people, while she was talking about cherrypicking is not upright. She was literally doing the same thing, how ironic! Where did her logic go?😅

@NeurIPSConf The only reason she feels sorry is because she got caught being racist and she is just regretting that she did it too obviously. From this statement I see no real reflection on herself. She will do the same thing next time, we will see

@NeurIPSConf Do not sugarcoat hateful speech that targets specific ethnic group as your so-called “cultural generalization”. Also, just to be clear, cultural generalization itself is a form of racism.🫢

NeurIPS acknowledges that the cultural generalization made by the keynote speaker today reinforces implicit biases by making generalisations about Chinese scholars. This is not what NeurIPS stands for. NeurIPS is dedicated to being a safe space for all of us. We want to address the comment made during the invited talk this afternoon, as it is something that NeurIPS does not condone and it doesn't align with our code of conduct. We are addressing this issue with the speaker directly. NeurIPS is dedicated to being a diverse and inclusive place where everyone is treated equally.

I'm shocked to see racism happening in academia again, at the best AI conference @NeurIPSConf. Targeting specific ethnic groups to describe misconduct is inappropriate and unacceptable. @NeurIPSConf must take a stand. We call on Rosalind Picard @MIT @medialab to retract and apologize for her statement.

Super happy to share my latest PhD paper. In this work, we uncover a novel mechanism responsible for the branched F-actin polymerization in the rear of cells. This work reveals that Arp2/3-based actin carries out a previously unappreciated function in building the rear cortex.

WASP and branched F-actin at trailing edge! 🤯Go to check how cells move in this circumstance.🤭

Congrats on two very nice persons in my former lab. 🎉 Studying cool science on how cell sense nutrition conditions at very first steps of macropinocytosis (Yiwei Zhang) and a new mechanism of Rab switching during endosome maturation (Reference doi.org/10.1038/s41467…) (Tu Hui)

Right now, I happened to know that Dictyostelium will go through closed mitosis (or at least semi-open mitosis). My world start to crush.🤯
