I had the absolute pleasure of giving a webinar for the Roads to the Past (@TLSBigDig) group last night, talking about my research on pottery production in medieval Yorkshire. Such a great opportunity to share some of my interim results. Thanks so much for having me! (@WRoCAH)

@RobertHamnett @cubitt_cox Thank you for your reply. I liked the sound of an app, to help identify pottery but could not see how to make it work. I was going to try it out on this sherd, which I think is Roman grey ware- poor photo! Your pottery guides are excellent.

@TLSBigDig @cubitt_cox How big, and what is the location? Looks roughly glazed half way up the external body, with a big rolled or hammer rim. If UK, it could be a Midlands Purple Ware type affair? So 16th - 18th century?

Many thanks to @NTBeningbrough head gardener Sam Shipman for a fantastic garden tour today. The transformation of the cherry tree lawn where we dug, to a fantastic new Mediterranean garden is almost complete.

I have never moved in the rarified atmosphere of #Academia. I am a totally unqualified pensioner who really enjoys archaeology and am possibly mild mannered 🤔😉. This was a message from a celebrity #Archaeologist and Academic! 😳 Me! And possibly my appreciative audience ! 🤣😂
