@practicalgolf 100% agree Jon. Great summary. It was not a perfect performance, there were slips and poor shots in pressure situations but there was also resolve, determination and (importantly) acceptance which ultimately was the difference between winning and losing.

Some more thoughts (I can't stop thinking): • We just watched in real-time the highest-stakes sporting outcome for someone's life, potentially ever. If he lost, I shudder to think what it would have done for his life and career. Now we're back talking about him getting more majors, and it feels realistic. Literally the most razor-thin line between two paths in life I can think of in sports. There would have been no precedent for that collapse from such an iconic athlete. • We (golfers) all have to learn from this in some way. Rory is one of the most talented golfers and now one of the most accomplished to ever do it. But that wedge he hit on 13 was possibly the worst shot I've ever seen under pressure. Unthinkably bad. 18 was right up there, too. Yet he found a way to forgive himself. I honestly believe I will be thinking about this lesson when I get into tough spots in tournaments. The most glaring example of how "human" golf is that I've seen in my life. • That Bryson quote was a nothingburger, especially if you look at the full text of that exchange with the reporter. Some players like to talk, others don't. Fair game when you're competing (obviously don't be a jerk and try to distract someone). I'm not sure Bryson was even that angry at him. He did have some nice things to say about Rory. But obviously, he's gutted that he didn't win. • You couldn't write a movie script that took us through that many emotions and then gave us a storybook ending. A nice reminder that sports are the ultimate content. This world is changing fast, but watching the best in the world put it all on the line in real time is undefeated. I'm not sure we'll ever see anything like that ever again though!

@TMLGolfShow @Titleist Steve and Andy! That's exciting. And a good topic. Not that you'll need it, but hopefully have the episode up in time for the tournament.

Curiosity is a tool that allows golfers to detach from the outcome and instead engage fully with the process, promoting a steady, neutral mindset.

In my #golf journey to better than scratch I’ve read lots of books that have accelerated my path. These are the best in my opinion. Let me know what I missed. Leave no stone left unturned🧵

In episode 51 we caught up with Joel from @golflifecrisis to hear all about his audacious, ambitious (and maybe just a little bit delusional) golf goals! A great chat with a great bloke!
