As #BharatTex2026 concluded last evening, here's a short excerpt from my address. The textile industry is more than just fabric. It is about livelihoods, entrepreneurship, exports, and millions of aspirations. As global supply chains evolve, Tamil Nadu is committed to leading through innovation, sustainability, value addition, and leadership in man-made and technical textiles. Our goal is clear: to make Tamil Nadu the preferred global destination for textile manufacturing and investment.

Constructive discussions last evening with Consuls General over dinner. We spoke about where Tamil Nadu is headed next, not just where we already lead. Semiconductors, green hydrogen, medical devices, GCCs, the sectors that will decide the next decade, not just this one. We exchanged perspectives on strengthening partnerships between Tamil Nadu and their respective countries across advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, electronics, clean energy, aerospace & defence, medical devices, and Global Capability Centres. As we shape Tamil Nadu's Industrial Policy 2027, such dialogues are invaluable. Tamil Nadu remains committed to being a reliable partner for global investors as we advance towards our vision of becoming a $1.5 trillion economy by 2036. நேற்று மாலை பல்வேறு நாடுகளின் துணைத் தூதர்களுடன் (Consuls General) இரவு விருந்தின்போது பயனுள்ள மற்றும் ஆக்கப்பூர்வமான கலந்துரையாடல் நடைபெற்றது. தமிழ்நாடு இன்று முன்னிலை வகிக்கும் துறைகள் மட்டுமல்லாமல், அடுத்த கட்ட வளர்ச்சியை வழிநடத்தும் துறைகள் குறித்தும் விரிவாக கருத்துகளைப் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டோம். குறிப்பாக, குறைக்கடத்திகள் , பசுமை ஹைட்ரஜன் , மருத்துவ உபகரணங்கள் , உலகளாவிய திறன் மையங்கள் உள்ளிட்ட அடுத்த பத்தாண்டுகளின் வளர்ச்சியை நிர்ணயிக்கும் முக்கிய துறைகள் குறித்து விவாதித்தோம். மேம்பட்ட உற்பத்தி, குறைக்கடத்திகள், மின்னணுவியல், தூய்மையான எரிசக்தி, விண்வெளி & பாதுகாப்புத் தொழில்நுட்பம், மருத்துவ உபகரணங்கள் மற்றும் உலகளாவிய திறன் மையங்கள் உள்ளிட்ட துறைகளில் தமிழ்நாட்டிற்கும் அவரவர் நாடுகளுக்கும் இடையேயான கூட்டாண்மையை மேலும் வலுப்படுத்துவது குறித்தும் கருத்துகளைப் பரிமாறிக் கொண்டோம். தமிழ்நாட்டின் தொழில் கொள்கை 2027-ஐ வடிவமைத்து வரும் இந்த தருணத்தில், இத்தகைய ஆக்கப்பூர்வமான கலந்துரையாடல்கள் மிகுந்த முக்கியத்துவம் வாய்ந்தவை. 2036 ஆம் ஆண்டுக்குள் 1.5 டிரில்லியன் அமெரிக்க டாலர் பொருளாதாரத்தை நோக்கமாகக் கொண்டு முன்னேறும் தமிழ்நாடு, உலக முதலீட்டாளர்களுக்கு நம்பகமான மற்றும் விருப்பமான முதலீட்டு இலக்காக தொடர்ந்து திகழும்.

The first consignment is just the beginning. It was a pleasure to join the celebrations marking France's National Day last evening. Concluded my Delhi visit with productive discussions with representatives of the automobile industry. We explored opportunities to deepen investments in Tamil Nadu across automobile manufacturing, EVs, and research & development, while gathering valuable industry inputs for Industrial Policy 2027; a policy that will strengthen Tamil Nadu's position as India's premier automotive and mobility hub.

Had constructive discussions in Delhi yesterday with leaders from the textile, electronics, and fintech sectors on expanding investments in Tamil Nadu and shaping our upcoming Industrial Policy 2027. Good policy is built by listening. We remain committed to creating an enabling business environment where enterprise can invest with confidence, innovate freely, and grow sustainably.

Tamil Nadu's textile story began centuries ago. Our next chapter will be written through innovation, sustainability, and value addition including man-made and technical textiles. It was a privilege to address #BharatTex2026 alongside Hon'ble Minister for Handlooms, Textiles and Khadi, Thiru M. Tamil Nadu is cementing its position as one of the world's leading footwear manufacturing hubs. Reinforcing this momentum, the groundbreaking ceremony of Evervan Kothari Footwear by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu (@CMOTamilnadu), Thiru. C Joseph Vijay witnessed the participation of more than 40 adidas (@adidas) suppliers and component manufacturers. Their presence reflects the growing confidence of global footwear value chain partners in Tamil Nadu as the preferred destination for large-scale, advanced manufacturing investments. Backed by a robust industrial ecosystem, world-class infrastructure, a highly skilled workforce, and an enabling policy environment, Tamil Nadu is fostering an integrated footwear manufacturing ecosystem where global brands, manufacturers, and their supply chain partners can grow together. On 7th of May 2021, the name “Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin” echoed across Tamil Nadu, as our 'Dravida Nayagan' and Thalaivar Thiru @MKStalin avargal took charge as the #ChiefMinister of #TamilNadu. Our leader’s 1,774 days in office have been nothing short of a miracle✨ for the #1 State in India. Our economy grew at a historic pace, we industrialised at unmatched speed and we delivered welfare at a scale never seen before ! This historic period in Tamil Nadu has been one of phenomenal industrial progress too. As we wrap up #DravidianModel 1.0 and load 2.0, we end with: 1,192 MoUs. Rs. 12,59,533 crores in committed investments. 36,77,758 job opportunities. 33 new SIPCOT Industrial Parks. 7 new TIDEL Neos and 1 new TIDEL Park, with 2 more TIDEL Parks and 10 more TIDEL Neos under development and several new projects and schemes under the Industries Department. Not only did our Honourable CM deliver what he promised, he went above and beyond what any other government could even fathom doing. In these 5 years, he has laid the blueprint for what a state in India can achieve when led by a Chief Minister who works hard and works only towards improving the lives of his people. For me personally, the last 3 yrs or 1,040 days in office as the Minister for Industries have been a humbling and rewarding experience. In this period alone, Tamil Nadu successfully attracted : 975 MoUs, Amounting to Rs. 9,83,196.62 crores in committed investments Opening up 32,70,113 job opportunities. My team and I sat in on more than 1,500 official investment meetings in India and abroad, 14 foreign roadshows and delegations across 11 countries and 21 cities, about 20 domestic delegations, roundtables, several summits and events, countless conversations and nonstop pitches. Reflecting on the journey thus far, I am hopeful that I lived up to the expectations of my leader, the people of Tamil Nadu and Industry and I also know that there is a long, long way to go. I am confident that in about 2 months from now, the name “Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin” will echo across Tamil Nadu once again and the state and its people will continue this march towards achieving our dream of a #TrillionDollarTN, built on the principles of inclusive, distributed growth♥️ Now it is time to shift gears from governance to electioneering ! An exciting new chapter unfolds in #TamilNadu’s #startup journey under @TIDCO_1965 in the department of industries #GoTN ! Today, we handed over the investment approval letters for TIDCO’s first deployments under the Startup Investment Policy 2025 to two highly promising companies emerging from Tamil Nadu’s innovation ecosystem: @AgnikulCosmos 🚀 and @RapteeEnergy 🏍️ ! Under the leadership of Honourable @CMOTamilNadu Thiru. @MKStalin avargal, Tamil Nadu is not just attracting massive investments, we are also building a robust innovation ecosystem backed by the GoTN ! TIDCO will now invest Rs. 25 crore each in these two startups making them the first investments under the new policy, signalling the State’s decision to directly support high potential companies emerging from Tamil Nadu’s deep tech and advanced manufacturing ecosystem. We will specifically focus on making strategic investments in deep-tech startups which need long-term capital to succeed. Since 2024 we have been working to reimagine TIDCO’s role with an ambition to transform Tamil Nadu into #ProductNationTN. As part of that vision we have repositioned TIDCO as a #VentureCatalyst, building a structured venture investment framework that can support startups at critical stages of growth. This policy now enables TIDCO to invest up to Rs. 25 crore in startups across sunrise sectors such as electric vehicles, aerospace and defence, renewable energy, semiconductors, medical electronics, artificial intelligence, blockchain, quantum computing, agro processing, technical textiles and speciality chemicals. Our goal is to ensure that Tamil Nadu’s most promising technology companies find patient capital, strategic support and scale opportunities ! 🇮🇳Indo e yōkoso Hirose Electric🇯🇵 🙏🏾✨ Another global electronics player chooses #TamilNadu ! In the presence of Honourable @CMOTamilNadu Thiru. @MKStalin avargal, Hirose Electric of Japan signed an MoU with @Guidance_TN to establish an electric and electronic components manufacturing facility in Chennai🎉 The project involves an investment of Rs. 100 crore and will create employment opportunities for around 100 people in the initial stage. Founded in 1937 and headquartered in Yokohama, Hirose Electric is a globally recognised manufacturer of precision micro connectors and cable assemblies. Its products power applications across telecommunications, automotive systems, industrial automation, robotics, energy systems and medical devices. More #TIDELNeo’s for Tamil Nadu ! #Nagai, #Karur and #Pudukkottai are now on the Tidel Neo Map✨ Honourable @CMOTamilNadu Thiru. @MKStalin avargal laid the foundation stones for three new TIDEL Neo parks in Karur, Pudukottai and #Nagapattinam. With these, we continue to expand the network of TIDEL Neo Parks across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities so that the digital economy grows beyond metros. Seven parks are already operational in Villupuram, Salem, Thanjavur, Thoothukudi, Tiruppur, Vellore and Karaikudi. Foundation stones have also been laid in Tiruvannamalai, Namakkal, Kanyakumari, Virudhunagar, Tirunelveli and Erode, with work progressing steadily. In Karur, the park will be built at an estimated cost of Rs. 38.50 crore with a built-up area of about 64,000 square feet. In Pudukotai, the park will come up at an estimated cost of Rs. 36.78 crore with a built-up area of around 60,400 square feet. In Nagapattinam, the park will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 43.78 crore with a built-up area of about 61,000 square feet. Each of these facilities will accommodate IT and ITeS companies, BPOs and start-ups. They will be equipped with modern infrastructure and around 600 IT professionals are expected to work in each park.
