We’re proud to announce Aanchal Panchal @panchal969 as a Winner of the TNQ Inspiring Science Awards 2026. Her paper, “Fungus-farming termites can protect their crop by confining weeds with fungistatic soil boluses,” was published in the journal Science.

The eighth finalist is Vivek Hari Sundar Gandhivel @VivekHariSunda1 for his paper “An Oryza-specific histone H4 variant predisposes H4 lysine 5 acetylation to modulate salt stress responses.”

The seventh finalist is Shubham Haribhau Mehatre @shubham_mehatre for his paper “A capsular myofibroblastic niche maintains hematopoietic stem cells in the spleen.”

The fourth finalist is @jotingogoi for his paper “A metal ion mediated functional dichotomy encodes plasticity during translation quality control.”

The sixth finalist is Gaurab Ghosh for his paper “Ecdysone regulates phagocytic cell fate of epithelial cells in developing Drosophila eggs.”

The fifth finalist is Aanchal Panchal for her paper “Fungus-farming termites can protect their crop by confining weeds with fungistatic soil boluses.”
