The market is always a bit of a gamble to a certain degree. Alts were dead in 2018 Alts were dead in 2022 Alts are dead today Yet in the past there have always been periods of time were they flickered to life again. So it's not that they are dead today that they stay that way. BUT with do limited runway if examples it's not a guarantee that most flicker back to live as before. We've already seen that the market doesn't always repeat the events of the past (this cycle has shown this more than ever before). So yes there is some degree of gamble and luck involved. That's the nature of any high risk opportunity taken truthfully told. You take a bit and hope it pays off. Because if it was guaranteed it wouldn't be rewarding anymore and not a high risk / high reward bet.

Retail lacked something new and exciting this cycle. Probably the reason why alts have seen so much underperformance or a drought in liquidity. I never really participated in Axie infinity but I was earlier on a few other games were I legit was makes 10-50 euro daily on playing that game. In 2017 just entering crypto was enough. The entire space was exciting because we interacted for the first time. Using an exchange was already semi-had but exciting to learn. A few years later and Uniswap entered the picture. In 2017 we already had etherdelta or idex but those were a nightmare imo. Uniswap kickstarted dex season for real and gave us another reason to spend hours online. But even later and one of my favorites? Gamefi. I never got into Axie Infinity a lot but I did dabble in a few other games were I was legit earning 10-50 euro daily (this didn't last though). NFTs, yield farming, ... We've had plenty of stuff every cycle. Today? Nothing Either we already have everything there is to invent or we just didn't have anything new come out anymore. Stablecoin adoption is as high as every though. And assets are moving onchain like never before. In a way the market has matured tremendously. But that's not the things that retail get excited. Stablecoins are stablecoins (boring). And tradefi going onchain is the same what we already knew. I believe we could use something new. Something that makes it fun again. Right now people have just been chasing pump and dumps while literally knowing it's a pump and dump token out of boredom (pumpfun popularity this cycle says enough). Our of boredom they just hope they are part of the pump and can exit before the dump. Yet they never can because it's a losing game. If something like Gamefi (think Axie infinite) made their entrance again when it was new I would throw money at it. That means others would as well and it would attract money. And attracting money means opportunity and liquidity. We need something.

I know it's not a popular take anymore: But I love my ledger and would buy it again if I ever needed another. 1/ I always ship a crypto hardware wallet to a pickup point. 2/ The data breaches were real but never effected any devices itself. Security is ONLY stored on the device itself. I've had the same old ledger nano s since 2017 and zero problems with it. Going 9 years strong. Just works. I think it's easy to use or I'm just already familiar with it to much to change.

Why not Ledger? It has had three data breaches (in 2020, 2025, and 2026). Each one leaked customers’ personal data (name, location, email, etc.). Even its co-founder, David Balland, was kidnapped (he flexed his new house online, so yeah...). The buttons aren’t wonky like on the Nano S. The battery doesn't ship dead like on the Nano X. It's also French.

During this entire downtrend Bitcoin never reclaimed a lost key level the moment it made a lower high. The current one is quite a bit higher up to find proof that the current downtrend is over. We aren't there yet but it does provide some positive evidence when we do. Despite that however, $60k overall is holding quite nicely though. In both previous 2 ranges, the moment the local high was in and Bitcoin's price broke down. It also always broke the local low pretty quickly. 100k wasn't much resistance 80k wasn't much resistance 60k does show resistance Not absolute proof or anything as objectively the downtrend still stands in terms of chart analysis. But some difference do show up though.

The main thesis that makes Ethereum more interesting vs Bitcoin at certain times is the outperformance window. Bitcoin is the golden standard. Ethereum is a close second. BUT Ethereum right now will go quicker to $4-5k (2.5x) than Bitcoin will go to $150k (2.5x). It ain't about which one is best or which one will go up right now. They will likely BOTH go up simultaneously. But one will outperform the other and give quicker gains at certain time frames. Bitcoin has been the one doing that for quite a while now. Now it will be Ethereum again.
