@yinzer_g 1 and 5 are ridiculous IMO. Queen was bad because of the way he was used by the coaching staff. TJ is still elite and can single handedly win games by himself. NE has shown us this year that not having a "SB ready team" in the off-season means nothing. Keep Queen and TJ.

5 tough offseason moves the Steelers need to make. 1. Release Patrick Queen. The Steelers would only eat $3.86M in dead cap space, but would save $13.33M under the cap. Queen has been a disappointment and can be easily replaced with a cheaper option or a draft pick. 2. Don't give the 5th year option to Broderick Jones. While Jones improved tremendously this past season before his injury, the Steelers can't afford to guarantee him $20M without seeing him repeat it in 2026. He will also have some competition with Dylan Cook's surprising emergence. 3. Offer Cam Heyward a $4M or $5M one year deal. If he accepts, great. If not, let him retire or walk. Benton has played out of position since he was drafted and is better suited as a 3/4 DT/DE than a NT. He can slide out to where Cam plays and we can draft a pure NT (Kayden McDonald-OSU) this year. It's time to look to the future. 4. Stay away from QB in the first 5 rounds of the draft. There is only one QB in this draft worthy of being considered a franchise QB. He will go 1st overall. The Steelers reached for Pickett in 2022 based on need, don't make the same mistake twice. Build the team and then insert a rookie franchise QB in 2027 or 2028. Go with Rodgers or Howard in 2026. 5. This is the hardest of them all and the one that I even hate to say. Trade TJ Watt. He is declining and his value won't get any higher than it is now. We don't have a SB team and probably wont while he is here. There are plenty of teams who believe adding that one vet piece, who can still play at a high level, will put them over the top. We can possibly get a 1st rounder, or a 2nd rounder + later picks for him. If they trade him before June 1st, they would have a $30M cap hit this year. If they wait til after June 1st, they would split the cap hit to $10M in 2026 and $20M in 2027. Both are doable. These actions, along with a strong draft in 2026 & 2027, can help facilitate a quick turnaround from a middling team into a world championship team.
