On Thursday, April 30th, 2026, at 12:00pm 14 Division’s prayer walk will be starting at King Street West and Close Avenue. We will be walking around the South Parkdale neighbourhood and stopping at 4 locations for guided moments of reflection and prayer.

Knowing what to say in an emergency can save lives. We welcomed Grade 8 @tdsb students from Winchester Jr & Sr Public School into our HQ Museum for an important, real-world lesson—how and when to call 9-1-1. As part of #NationalPublicSafetyTelecommunicatorsWeek Communications Operator Brandon Mastromattei shared his experience fielding calls when every second counts.

Scammers are posing as contractors, claiming urgent roof or chimney issues, then increasing costs as “new problems” are found. In some cases, they even return pretending to be Interpol demanding more money.    Remember: no police agency will ever show up to your house demanding money. We have a heavy police presence in the downtown area today and our officers will be making arrests for anyone breaking the law. Interfering with officers performing their duties or engaging in violence or any criminal behavior will not be tolerated.

We want to sincerely thank our community partners and GTA policing partners who supported our officers in keeping everyone safe during yesterday’s Global Day of Action. Safely managing up to 350,000 demonstrators is a testament to careful planning, close coordination, effective multi‑agency collaboration, and policing excellence on a large scale.

A large rally and march is expected in North York tomorrow, with significant traffic impacts. I want to thank the @TorontoPolice officers who were once again on the front line during yesterday’s demonstrations, often facing dangerous situations, including incidents in which officers were assaulted. This kind of violence against police officers, or anyone, is unacceptable — full stop. Our officers are there to keep people safe, and they deserve to do their jobs without being attacked. As we have said many times, when officers have lawful grounds to do so, arrests will be made and charges laid — anywhere in the city, whether involving protesters or counter-protesters. Everyone must respect the law.
