Our thoughts are with the injured @DRPS officer who is in hospital after being shot while responding to a call, as well as with their family and colleagues. Officers face dangerous situations every day while serving their communities. At these moments we are always united as a policing family in support of the injured officer and all those impacted.

Officers responded to an armed person call in the area of Simcoe St S and Wentworth St E in Oshawa. During the interaction, an officer and the suspect were shot. The officer has been transported to a Toronto area trauma centre in critical but stable condition.  The suspect was transported to a local hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries. S/Sgt. McCabe will be providing an update at the scene. Time and location will be provided shortly.
