@vegetalpuppet Being very cozy in a very small space when the weather is very bad is an ancestral mammalian desire from deep within our evolutionary heritage

@janecoaston @mckaycoppins It's pretty wild how smoking, drinking and teen pregnancy have all declined *dramatically* along with crime and violence from 30 years ago and basically no one seems happy with those accomplishments

Trying to claim a salary that’s less than a third of the average salary for Lajpat Nagar isn’t “underpaid” “cheap labour exploitation” lmfao
San Francisco techbros with savarna privilege aren’t just stupid, they’re evil

People calling this "cheap labour exploitation" are mixing up two things. Physical work is not exploitation. Underpaid, unsafe, humiliating work is. If the assistants are paid fairly and treated with dignity, this is a legit service solving a real pain. Criticize labour terms, not labour itself.
English

@doesntswallow @CultOfRize Yeah culture isn’t everything but neither is economics, or else we’d see similar businesses in Jamaica or Kenya
English

@TPatbat @CultOfRize hmmmm. yes I mean i do think its ultimately related to caste society ofc, i just question culturist explanations most of the time 🤔
English

@YesKhush_5 Do you not consider 149 rupees an hour “underpaid?” lmfao
Trying to have it both ways “India is Shining” bullshit

In Lajpat, you can now pay ₹149/hr for someone to carry your bags, wait in food queues, walk you to the metro, find you a place to sit, and even set up a foldable chair. interesting biz !!

@doesntswallow @CultOfRize Economics is a factor to be sure, but this kind of thing is unthinkable in other third world countries. You just don’t see it anywhere else
English

@TPatbat @CultOfRize I'm skeptical I think it's economically driven. what else was slavery or the uber immigrant underclass if not a type of shudra
English

@doesntswallow @CultOfRize Honestly, no. Have you ever read White Tiger? America is an entire nation of Balrams, there’s a reason our Brahmins stay as far away from our Shudras as they physically possibly can—we’ll rob & kill, we’re not deterred by the threat of retribution on our families
English

@TPatbat @CultOfRize well yes but i think being a third world country doesn't help — i mean you don't think Americans would do this if labour wages were lower ?
English

@veruca_slut Your penance will be relatively light thanks to your confession
English

@TPatbat sincere apologies to the future - i am a spoke in the wheel as a corporate conference coordinator.

@realitymap Western people in general have a “commercial” mindset towards everything, even that which is sacred and divine.
For them, all can be traded, monetised, valued, capitalised.
They reduce life to a contractual arrangement.
They are deeply trapped in Samsara / Maya.
