@WillRBishop In fact I think this was lauded as a feature in WWDC. It’s because it’s “tinted glass”
English

@WillRBishop Send this to Apple. Their own UI uses “white” and it renders with bad legibility everywhere. Take the Notes app for example.
Or the blue checkmark while cropping that photo.
Neither true white. Both low visibility.

English

Well in case anyone stumbles upon this and want the fix:
Set the text colour to UIColor(red: 2, green: 2, blue: 2, alpha: 1)
🤦🏻♂️

Will Bishop@WillRBishop
Does anyone know how to get text in a glass button to be actually legible? My text is set to be UIColor.white, but clearly it is not that
English

@filippkowalski Yeah, similar for me. I reimplemented Dato. Which I feel sorta bad about. My version is objectively worse but it does what matters.
If all of mini SaaS isn’t dead, at least dev-focused mini SaaS is dead.

it's a real carnage for software, isn't it?
My SetApp subscription has ended, so I took 2h with Claude to recreate most of the apps I used through the sub.
I only bought a lifetime payment for CleanShot X because it's amazing.
I'm building my own Paste alternative with extra features (auto-sync copy/paste between my laptop and Android), so I have the same features as iPhone users.
I'm also thinking about adding an extra layer that will parse the clipboard data on the server and store it there + maybe some custom rules based on the type, but im not sure yet.
Still in the idea phase

Codex use cases are live, and there is a great page on how to use Codex to build iOS and macOS native apps!

@AdamWhitcroft I love this… a long time ago I had the idea of a simple “sooner or later” type UI for todos. But your design here is wayyyyyyy cooler than anything I imagined. And you actually built it. Love this, I’ll have to try it
English

Made as a joke, but I unironically use this all the time.

A total rebuild of Twodos is going out today, featuring an all-new drag and drop interface.

@pepicrft How would you compare this to something like `act`?

Debugging CI/CD pipelines locally was too complex & expensive to solve. AI tools changed that.
We built Magnolia—run GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Forgejo pipelines locally.

Not feature-complete yet, but open to contributions. No more push-pray-wait.

@TR3NTG Sorry was that meant to be a prompt for Claude instead of a post 😂

making tiktoks seems like an incredibly smart move for building a personal brand in 2025/2026
how do my fellow devs feel about this?
Julia Pintar@juliapintar
bullish that tiktok is the new linkedin/twitter somehow we get more inbound from potential clients from tiktok than my biggest platform (twitter) start making videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!
English

@Jchammond_ And I post as me, with only this account. It’s not hype/hack tiktok you hear about on X. Just authentic, normal tiktok
English

@Jchammond_ It’s my best avenue for my app. Though I’d already built up a (small but dedicated) following organically of other writers that are my ideal audience

Has anyone actually found that playing the keyword game is verifiably profitable?
How do you even know a certain change leads to a certain different outcome?
Trent 🌱@TR3NTG
ASO peeps say not to repeat keywords, but after an overhaul of my app’s ASO, all rankings are just tanking My original, thoughtless, descriptive everything -> okay performance Following guides, analyzing competitors and curating listing -> bad performance
English

@ronyfadel Good call. Was wondering about them. Wasn’t sure how relevant they are today. I just have no idea
