I feel like @OVRPerformance is about to drop an app update that lets you time/save results from multiple athletes and...it's just over for everybody at that point.

Field events and track events should NOT overlap at the State meet. That's just foolish.

10 fly is not the best picture for an athletes absolute speed. Why? It simply is not showing anything up to 3 seconds of their max speed. 30 fly shows a better picture of an athletes absolute speed.

@coach_mel_redd The2 teams I coach have 60 and 140 kids. Establishing anything close true buy-in takes all the things that drive kids out of sports rather than into them. HONEST opinion?: we don't have nearly enough "Coach Mel the Coach" but we REALLY don't have enough "Coach Mel the parent"

@TRKCoachScott Whatever is not working is not the way to go. I wish I had answers but I don’t. This is one of the reasons I’m currently taking a beat on team coaching. Trying to convince team after team to lock in for 45 min to lift isn’t coaching. It’s babysitting.

I think the concept of “culture” needs to be completely redefined and revamped at the high school sports level. I don’t have answers but I do know that what used to be effective no longer is. HS aged kids generally care much less than those who were in HS 10 years ago.

Aight....my official @OVRPerformance Sprint review....I've used Freelap, Dashr (Blue and Silver), Arenagear, and even the budget SKLZ gates in some capacity. Over the last two days we've timed over 200 flys. Average time to run twenty reps is about a minute and a half. 🧵

@AltamontXCTF @NDominator We have close to 10 coaches on campus who use our timers at some point. Don't have to rely on who's downloaded the app, who's been trained to use it, who's phone is dead....and that's before we mention the price point!

@AltamontXCTF @OVRPerformance Couple years back we had a kid lose a freelap chip down a storm drain...I'm thinking "man...am i really trusting $250 worth of tech the size of a quarter to 15-year olds????"

@NDominator @AltamontXCTF We've had dropped times with every system we've used. Some more frequently than others. And we've been okay...but NONE? It's a different feeling. That and the app-free piece are huge.

@TRKCoachScott The zero dropped times is the most important part. Nothing sucks worse than a great effort gets missed because the tech breaks down. I know @AltamontXCTF is a happy camper right now.

I mentioned that we dont need an app to run it... But they have one if we WANT IT. @OVRPerformance....fantastic job, folks. Now just tell me y'all take school PO's and we're REALLY cooking.

Every set of gates we have operates separately of the others AND as part of the set. Sure, we can run flys. But if we wanted to separate the set and run two independent 5-10-5s ? Easy money. In-beam start? Easy money.
