Lavonte David announces his retirement in a Sports Illustrated story. “It’s time,” David says. “I’ve been playing football since I was 6 years old. Thirty years straight of football. I never missed a year. A lot of time, man. When it’s time, when you know, you know. I always wanted to be a guy who wanted to retire on my own terms. Right now is the perfect opportunity for that. I give glory to God for me to be able to play football for this long.  “For me, man, 14 years [in the NFL] is enough. I’m comfortable with my decision. I’m satisfied with my career. When I first got into the league, I never, never, ever in a million years expected to play 14 years at a high level for the same organization. And it’s something that doesn’t come around often. I think it’s time that I hang it up and let the next generation of players come in and take over the game.”

Vita, Robinson and Kancey make for a very good IDL group. Bizarre that our only pass rusher on the roster is currently Diaby. Trying to address this in the draft alone or relying on a 4th round pick from last year is a recipe for disaster! Crosby, Bosa or Greenard. Then depth.

Certainly an upgrade vs Logan Hall/Gaines but also far from our biggest need! Where is the EDGE? If our only plan is Keldric Faulk at 15, I don’t like that at all! Drafting EDGE defenders is so difficult, outside the top 5 of the draft has less than a 40% success rate across the NFL. It has to be Crosby, Greenard, or Bosa. If Bucs still decide to draft Faulk, I’ll trust Licht, but we can’t allow ourselves to be forced into that pick!

This is cool and all, but can we get Robotaxi/Waymo in Pinellas and Hillsborough before we try this drone transportation stuff?

Alright Licht, this is it, now it’s either Maxx Crosby or we tear it down, trade everyone (Godwin, Bredeson, Vita) out of town and rebuild in Tampa.

I think Maxx Crosby’s trade value might have just fallen to a palatable level for the Bucs! Licht and Spytek have a great relationship and should get on the phone, starting offer from the Bucs should be Bredeson and 2027 1st round pick for Crosby. Tampa should go as far as Bredeson, 2026 3rd, 2027 1st (perhaps a 2nd that becomes a 1st if he plays 50%+ of snaps) + Bredeson. Raiders need a guard, Bucs free up 8M in cap space to go towards Crosby. Vegas needs to salvage a deal for Crosby and this one fills a need and gets them some of the capital they expected. Bucs get a sack per game type of player!

Bucs still need an EDGE! We should offer 2 1st round picks + Ben Bredeson for Crosby and their 2nd round pick. Slightly worse than their Ravens deal before he failed the physical and before they made their other moves. Solves their guard need, saves us 8m to go towards Crosby, we use their 2nd round pick on Emmanuel Pregnon as our new, better, and cheaper guard. Then our 2nd round pick is Jacob Rodriguez and we solve our LB need.

I agree we need to remake the room. I just think all cap needs to be focused on EDGE right now. The Bucs need to draft 2 LBs for sure. Jacob Rodriguez or Anthony Hill Jr in round 2, Aiden Fisher or Bryce Boettcher seem like guys we’d possibly take later. One of them either rotates with David and Anzalone or starts with Anzalone.

I realize the Bucs are gonna wait to hear from Lavonte, but from a pure "what makes the team better in 2026?" perspective, I would be trying to sign Kaden Elliss and draft 2 LBs. Re-make the whole room

The Raiders offseason has been INSANE! They had so much money to spend and are spending it everywhere! They also have 3 picks in the first 36!! They should sign the Washington guard Chris Paul to a 3 year deal + Romeo Doubs for 2 years at WR. They have 40M+ of cap space and could easily sign both holding space for the draft. Draft Mendoza #1, Thieneman or Freeling #14, draft an DL at #36 and the Raiders could be primed for a massive turnaround next year! Spytek is COOKING!

This is a good move by the Panthers. I do question the Phillips signing, 4yr/$130m feels like a big contract for a guy who at most had 8.5 sacks and that was his rookie year, 5 years ago. As a Bucs fan, the Panthers defense is definitely better. Their running game lost their 1-2 punch. And they may have just tied up 80m guaranteed to an average pass rusher. If we sign a real pass rusher and draft well the NFC South will be back to running through Tampa.

@SleeperNFL @SleeperRaiders I think their perfect draft would start: Mendoza QB #1 Sadiq TE #14 Pregnon G #36 Being able to have 2 TEs in Sadiq and Bowers on the field would help Jeanty and therefore Mendoza be their best.

If you're the Raiders, what direction do you go with the No. 14 pick?

He’s probably going to end up with 49ers or Tennessee, but if Lavonte retires, the Bucs should call him! I like Jacob Rodriguez in round 2 for the Bucs, but we could take the pressure off him having to start, let him develop and let him learn to be a pro for a year while getting reps and dominating special teams. EDGE is still the primary focus and needs to be addressed first.

Pregnon out of Oregon in round 2 solves their guard problem. I think they should consider Sadiq at 14! Pair him with Bowers, run base 12 personnel to help Jeanty be his best! Take a WR in the 3rd, sign one later in FA. They have 2 1st rounders in 2027 that they can use to build out their defense/WRs, build inside out around the franchise QB.

Raiders are 1 IOL and 1 WR away from being a really high quality, young, playoff caliber team, given the Mendoza pick of course
