Here are a few reasons why nobody should take Melania Trump seriously. When Donald Trump publicly mocked the killing of Rob Reiner, Melania stayed silent. When Donald Trump publicly celebrated the death of Robert Mueller, Melania stayed silent. When Donald Trump publicly, and repeatedly, called Marjorie Taylor Greene a "traitor," triggering death threats against her and her family — threats that the former representative said the president blew off and dismissed when she asked him to stop — and continuing his public attacks against her even after she informed him of those threats, Melania stayed silent. When U.S. intelligence essentially confirmed Donald Trump's war against Iran mistakenly hit a school, taking the lives of nearly 200 children — while her husband refused to acknowledge the mistake, take responsibility, or even apologize — Melania stayed silent. When Donald Trump and his oldest son publicly mocked the attack on Nancy Pelosi's husband, a senior citizen, with a hammer by a fanatic who had supported Donald Trump's lies about the results of the 2020 election, Melania stayed silent. When a Donald Trump supporter hunted down Democrats, taking the lives of two while shooting two others in an act of horrific violence in Minnesota last year, and Donald Trump didn't even reach out to the governor of the state to offer help or condolences, Melania stayed silent. When Donald Trump chose to attack and criticize Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer after an attempt to kidnap her by far-right radical lunatics was thwarted, rather than simply expressing relief that these lowlifes who were plotting to do so were stopped, Melania stayed silent. She's married to one of the worst human beings on the planet. An absolute lowlife piece of garbage who's among the most disgraceful people to ever be allowed to call themselves "president" — who spends hours every single day lashing out and attacking others with some of the most vile statements imaginable — and Melania stays silent. Oh, but when Jimmy Kimmel makes a joke about her husband's age in a comedy sketch — now the thin-skinned, easily triggered snowflake who married a man who's only two years younger than her father for his money has something to say. Just... stop. Go away. Nobody cares. In my lifetime, there's not been a First Lady who's less consequential than Melania. She's a clown whose biggest accomplishment will be marrying a man old enough to be her father for his money and not throwing up while they conceived their son. And if my words are harsh, I don't care. When she took up a cause "against cyberbullying" while she's married to the most infamous cyberbully on the planet, while never once standing up to any of the horrible things he's said online — she can F all the way off. She needs to be like the rest of us, sitting around waiting to read that big, beautiful headline so we can all celebrate. Until then, nobody cares what she has to say about anything — including her husband.

BREAKING: Elizabeth Warren unleashes a fiery speech to block taxpayer funding for Trump's hideous ballroom: "Americans are selling their plasma to pay for groceries and gas!" And that wasn't even the best part... "Right now, I'm BLOCKING a Republican bill to build Donald Trump's ballroom. Instead of rubber-stamping Trump’s gold-encrusted ballroom, Congress must lower costs for American families," Warren wrote on X, sharing a video of her speech. And what a speech it was. This one has MAGA world seething. "Donald Trump promised to lower costs on day one. Well, today is day four hundred and sixty-four of Donald Trump's presidency and we are in a full-blown affordability crisis," Warren said on the Senate floor. "We are two months into Trump's illegal war with Iran. A war that, according to experts, is costing taxpayers over a billion dollars a day," she said. "American families are getting flattened by rising costs on just about everything from groceries to rent to gas. Just today, gas prices hit a new high since Trump started his war. People are stretching themselves to the brink just to pay their bills." "But what is the biggest issue of the day, according to Republicans in Congress? Fast-tracking Donald Trump's gold-encrusted ballroom!" Warren raged. "Now, another recent Republican plan would send $400 million to the White House, I guess to buy more gold leaf and onyx marble for the wannabe king." In the wake of the alleged assassination attempt against Trump at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, Republicans have been engaged in a full-court press to build Trump's $400 million ballroom. Originally, Trump had claimed that corporate donors would foot the bill for his vanity project — a blatant pay-to-play scheme that would have allowed companies to buy access to the White House. But now, people like Lindsey Graham are insisting that taxpayers should fund the build. "But I want to be clear," said Warren. "It is common sense that we can, of course, protect the president without shoveling millions of dollars into Trump's ballroom in the middle of an affordability crisis. This bill to rubber-stamp Trump's latest vanity project is a giant slap in the face to American families. It's plain and simple." "Americans are selling their plasma to pay for groceries and gas!" she continued. Think about that. Americans, right now, today, are selling their blood just to pay their bills." "And what's the Republican solution? Dump more money into Donald Trump's gold-encrusted vanity project," Warren went on. "And let's do it on a fast track, because it's that urgent. Well, here are a few other ideas for things we could fast-track to actually help the American people..." "We could reverse Trump's and the Republicans' giant healthcare cuts that kicked millions of Americans off their health insurance and jacked up insurance premiums for millions more." "Or we could deliver affordable child care for every American family." "Or we could undo Republicans' cuts to food assistance for families." "Or we could put a stop to Trump's across-the-board tariffs." "Or we could end Donald Trump's war with Iran." "And look, the list goes on and on," she said. "But nowhere on the list of ways to lower costs for American families is rubber-stamping Donald Trump's lavish ballroom. Remember, Trump's ballroom has already become a tool for what looks like corruption in plain sight. Since day one, giant corporations have lined up to dump millions of dollars into Trump's ballroom. And that includes Meta, Apple, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Comcast, Coinbase, and Palantir. And those are just the people and the entities that we know of." "Others are being kept secret from the American people because Donald Trump has let them stay anonymous," Warren continued. "So what do they have to hide? And what are all these donors expecting in return? And by the way, if Congress bankrolls this ballroom for Trump's corporate donors, like other Republicans are proposing, what happens to all those private donations? If Trump is using his ballroom to facilitate a giant pay-to-play scheme, then the American people deserve to know." "Instead of dumping even more money into Trump's golden ballroom, we need to put an end to this corruption and focus on lowering costs for American families," she added. "That's what Democrats are laser-focused on. Republicans should join us and get it done!" Bravo Senator Warren! We refuse to pay for Trump's ballroom and will vote against ANYONE who supports it! Please ❤️ and share to thank Elizabeth Warren.

The way we are micromanaging how families in need spend their $6/day and not how our government spends over a trillion dollars a year on WAR with close to zero accountability is a glaring example of what is wrong with politics in this country. Look over here so you don’t look over there. It’s deflating to see what they do for votes, and who they make you point the finger at, so you don’t point it at them. It doesn’t have to be this way. We can demand better.

Should it be illegal to refuse to donate blood or a kidney to someone who’s dying, even if it’s a child? If a child in your family needed your kidney and you couldn’t or wouldn’t give it, should the law force you to or send you to prison? If your answer is no because that violates bodily autonomy, a basic human right, then you already understand the argument for legal abortion. No one is required to give up bodily autonomy for someone else, no matter their age or relationship. You might call it murder, but even laws around killing have exceptions. Self defense is legal when someone’s life is at risk. If abortion were banned in every situation, even when the mother’s life is in danger, then by that logic self defense shouldn’t exist either. But it does. Most people wouldn’t accept losing their bodily autonomy or their right to stay alive, so it’s worth considering what it means to take that right away from others.

Dems running for Congress and POTUS must run on Supreme Court reform. A law forcing justices into senior status after 18 years, applicable to the current bench would do the trick. That would force Roberts, Alito, and Thomas into senior status, opening three seats to be filled immediately. Biden proposed this idea, and Harris endorsed it, too. Congress would have to pass the law, though, so candidates for Congress should be pushing this as well. Here's more info: abovethelaw.com/2023/07/dont-f…

The difference between Texas and Virginia redistricting is this: The people of Texas didn't have a say. They didn't vote on it - their legislature made the decision for them. The people of Virginia voted, it's the will of the people. That's why Republicans are so angry.

The specific line in this speech that deserves attention: Thomas said officials who lack commitment to righteous cause recast themselves as "Institutionalists, pragmatists or thoughtful moderates" to justify their failures. The officials he appears to be criticizing are the ones who pushed back on unchecked executive power - the Roberts, Barrett, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch wing that Napolitano distinguished from Thomas earlier this week. Thomas gave this speech on the day DOJ moved to permanently erase jury convictions of January 6 ringleaders and the acting AG said presidential direction of prosecution decisions should make Americans happy. He gave it while accepting luxury travel from Harlan Crow for years without disclosure - conduct a man invoking sacrifice and righteous cause might reflect on. The Declaration he cited protects rights against government overreach. This week's DOJ activity - erasing verdicts, pressuring the Fed, firing prosecutors who did their jobs - is government overreach. Thomas's own framing, applied honestly, reaches the events happening in the building next door to where he gave this speech.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson didn't invoke Weimar Germany as a rhetorical flourish. She cited a specific scholar by name in a footnote: Ernst Fraenkel, a Jewish labor lawyer who observed the Nazi legal system from the inside, smuggled his manuscript out of Berlin in 1938, and published "The Dual State" at the University of Chicago in 1941. Fraenkel's framework is precise. The Nazis didn't immediately collapse Germany's legal system. They left courts functioning - particularly in contracts and economic matters - while placing Jews and political enemies in a separate lawless zone where no legal protection applied. Most Germans lived in the law-bound "normative state." The targeted lived in the "prerogative state." The facade of normalcy was the mechanism of control. Jackson invoked Fraenkel to name what the court's Republican majority is doing in real time. In 21 consecutive shadow docket cases, the six conservative justices have let Trump opt out of the law - often with no explanation given at all. They blessed ICE racial profiling without citing a single legal justification. They allowed Trump to ignore $4 billion in congressionally appropriated foreign aid. They stripped lower courts of the ability to issue universal relief, meaning only those with resources to file individual lawsuits get protection from illegal presidential action. Constitutional law professor Evan Bernick put it plainly: "The court is adjusting the law to make place for arbitrary power." Jackson's dissent is not hyperbole. A footnote citing a 1941 manuscript about Nazi legal architecture is a Supreme Court justice blowing the cover on what her colleagues are building.
