@TSM_Break @hambinooo Dude, this hits so close to home. There’s just not enough time to do everything I want to do. Gotta prioritize & unfortunately that means leaving things behind.

I got into streaming because I wanted to share cool gaming moments. Things spiralled & now I've done it for 14 years. This streamer university thing feels like everyone's an actor or drama farmer, desperate for money & fame. Sometimes I feel a bit strange being in this space.

@TSM_Break We need an OG University, teach these kids the right way.

There are creative types that are brilliant entertainers for sure. What Ludwig has done for example has been great to watch. (Not seen all of it ofc). It's more the fact people are getting tired of a lot of these "drama streamers" & I feel it's tainting the entire industry. From the viewers perspective & potential sponsors etc, I don't think it's a good look. Could be my age too. I'm older than most and I think I have a different idea to what's hot/not.

Why feel strange in a space that is evolving? It's opening up to more possibilities and chances to connect with other like minded people. Just because you started streaming to share cool gaming moments, doesn't mean you have to change that. It just means streaming has added more options to "share cool art moments" or "share fun community interactions" OR "share dramatic acting skills" 🤣 It's a way to connect or show your skills, whatever they may be. Yes, there are some people on there just trying to get money, but there are people out there that have other skillsets and no place to display them. Streaming can give them that place.

@TSM_Break I got into streaming to help the gaming community get better with their finances. Sometimes I feel like I am not enough of a personality to fit in this space.

@hambinooo Honestly wanted to do something like this for years, just feel like I'd fail so never bothered. Also think it would take a massive amount of research and effort and that would infringe on the stream or being an actual dad/partner. Time management is fucking hard these days.

@saltyy_savage Yeah fuck that dude. 😆 Talking to chat is my favourite part of the whole gig these days. Making folks laugh, or laughing with folks is THE BEST part of my stream.

I’m of the same mindset and think people will seek out the real ones that actually put in the work and like to interact with their communities. It’s a little worrying though I do often get comments like “are you going to stop talking to chat yet” I’m like wtf am I reading 🤣 I thought vibing with your community was one the biggest part of being a live content creator lol

@saltyy_savage My hope is with all this fake bullshit and AI thumbnail/content, is that viewers won't leave but instead they'll seek out authentic interaction, with someone they know is real, honest & down to earth. No dramas, no fake content, just them, their community & a video game.

@TSM_Break Twitch definetely changed over the years and reasons why ppl stream changed for some too. But I am so glad that there are still ppl lik you, @Sacriel, @CohhCarnage, and others that are still doing it for sharing their gaming experience and fun with others and not drama.

@cdubya719 I've always hated calling myself a streamer, I always say Youtuber (never been a youtuber). It's a lot less explaining to folks who have no idea what Twitch is, but now it's also way less embarrassing to say Youtuber.

@TSM_Break Streamer University has been the reason I committed to calling myself a "Gamescaster" now instead of "Streamer". Them and I are not the same kind of folks.

@BenDickens87 It is on its arse, but it doesn't help that anyone into FPS or survival games has been fed the same game rebranded over and over for 10 years now and none have stuck. I'm a PUBG streamer & we've had no sequel FOR 10 YEARS. 🫠

Since going variety streaming I'm out of practice in FPS games. Holy moly everyone, in every game feels like they're playing for a million dollars. On one hand it's cool folks have got so good, on another it feels like there's no casual FPS anymore. Hard to dip in & dip out. 🫠
