@RenaldoGouws Wolf in sheep's clothing, this oke has, through admittedly amazing acts of charity, ingratiated himself into SA society. His true colours are slowly emerging. Be very, very, wary.

@Markosonke1 @CyrilRamaphosa It's a cowardly way of dodging genuine questions. Whoever is serious about running SA in the future is going to have to be prepared to go on all the top SA podcasts. Voters want to see these guys answer questions that this fool avoids like a sofa full of forex.
English

So tell me… why doesn’t @CyrilRamaphosa hold press conferences like Trump or even Malema? 🤔
Like proper, frequent, off scripted straight-to-the-point briefings where journalists can ask real questions and the country actually feels updated… not these once-in-a-while, scripted appearances 😭
Malema is basically runs monthly "episodes" and journalists are always glued
Trump does daily updates with journalists
But our president? You only see him when something BIG has already gone wrong
Is it strategy? Avoiding pressure? Or just a different leadership style?
Because right now it feels like the opposition communicates more with the public than the actual president

@SenWarren So happy to read these comments, glad that this money grab by the looters Ayn Rand warned about in Atlas Shrugged is being seen for what it is. Sort out the waste, fraud and outright theft

Jordan Peterson has improved my life immeasurably. His writing, his interviews, and his insight have guided my thinking since 2017. He always supplied me with meaningful viewpoints and knowledge. His insightful interviews introduced me to experts and thinker with vast knowledge about important topics and subjects. Organisation's he founded, e.g. Arc and Peterson Academy have contributed immensely to alerting people to the true threats facing Western Civilisation. Before JP we were sleepwalking into a woke dystopia and we couldn't even see it. He articulated the danger of government control of speech and thought before it was too late. I am deeply indebted to him for raising awareness of our plight. This debate reminds me of the Monty Python sketch "What have the Roman's done for us". Personally I value his wisdom and what I learnt from his writing. I wish him well, I hope he will be OK.

I have never understood, and still do not understand, why people loathe Jordan Peterson. For me, he is the most compelling philosopher of the 21st century. His ideas have reshaped how the modern man, particularly in the West, sees himself. And this is not even limited to the West. Any sensible young man can recognize the value in his thinking; lessons that, if practiced as he presents them, have the power to turn one’s life around.

@bryan_johnson Glad you found it and you are fixing it and by highlighting it drawing attention to it. Everything is better from that realization onwards, well done Bryan

Guys, I’m an idiot. All this time I’ve spent trying not to die, I had toxic turf in my backyard. Artificial turf contains crumb rubber infill made from recycled tires, which leaches chemicals including PFAS, heavy metals, and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These compounds are linked to hormone disruption, carcinogenicity, and systemic inflammation.
I don’t know how I missed it. It makes me question my basic competence in life.
What gets me is that I try so hard to survey the world of potential idiocy. Then I find out there’s a monument to idiocy sitting right in front of my face that I was blind to.
I’m removing the turf, yet I’m still stuck with this seemingly unsolvable problem of how to not be an idiot.

Truly mysterious how local politics works.
Is this not the very same Nkululeko Dunga who was fired as Ekurhuleni Finance MMC by ANC Mayor Xhakaza in 2024 who now lands the whole Gauteng Finance MEC job?
Did I miss the part where his track record suddenly improved, or is “coalition politics” a new qualification on its own?
The one area that needs critical focus in Gauteng right now, as literally everyone knows, is the judicious allocation of funds to fix infrastructure.
Will this help fix Gauteng? How will his R179 billion budget be allocated?

English

@GaytonMcK @EFFSouthAfrica You don't understand it? There are no better options? This is why the PA is totally unsuited to be in power. He was fired from Ekulheni for poor performance and absenteeism. And you give him the purse strings to JHB? Wtf, I thought you were not going to deal with the EFF
English

I honestly truly don’t understand the fuzz regarding the appointment of Dunga as MEC of Finance, do you expect @EFFSouthAfrica to give their votes for free, this is not how things work, most importantly the whole coalition crumbles without EFF votes in Gauteng period.

1. I am saddened by the opposition to Imtiaz Sooliman receiving the UCT honorary doctorate.I cannot think of a South African candidate with a better track record in charity and development.

@moreki_mo @HermanMashaba @helenzille @Our_DA @DAGauteng @DA_JHB @CilliersB Well said and 100% true. I doubt that Herman has the strength of character to take this advice.
English

Mr @HermanMashaba
It is deeply concerning to observe the persistent pattern of personal attacks directed at Ms @helenzille. As a public leader, your words carry weight, and repeated personal remarks do not strengthen your political credibility nor the image of your party. Instead, they risk portraying a leadership style that prioritises personal grievances over constructive engagement and policy-driven discourse.
It is important to reflect on the past with honesty and integrity. Helen Zille played a significant role in your political journey, offering support, political space, and leadership backing during your tenure as Executive Mayor of Johannesburg. That history cannot simply be erased when it becomes convenient. Political differences are expected and even healthy in a democracy, but they should not descend into personal antagonism.
South Africans deserve leaders who rise above personal disputes and demonstrate maturity, respect, and focus on the issues that matter most to citizensservice delivery, economic growth, and good governance. Continual personal attacks undermine these priorities and distract from the real work that needs to be done.
You have an opportunity to lead with dignity and to elevate political discourse in South Africa. That begins with moving away from personal criticism and engaging in principled, issue-based debate.
