You are right that there was genocide in Zimbabwe, Thank you for speaking out about this issue that still haunts many of us from Matebeleland provinces and parts of the Midlands province. However, It was not some civil war between Shonas and Ndebeles, The Gukurahundi genocide was perpetrated by then Government, Using a specially trained branch of the army (5th Brigade), Against unarmed Ndebeles. It's important to clarify that the perpetrator was the Government, And not Shona people in general. Zanupf lost the vote in Matabeleland and Ndebele speaking parts of Midlands in the 1st election after Independence (1980), In retaliation, And to enforce their 'one party state' ideology, They committed genocide against Ndebeles who they believed were all supporters of ZAPU - the party that had won all but one parliamentary seat in Matebeleland. More nuance is needed here but I'll leave it as is to avoid making this tweet longer than it already is. There is tribalism in Zimbabwe yes, Ndebeles still feel marginalised and oppressed in many ways, But the genocide itself, Was purely a Government initiative, Not a civil one. The Government of Zimbabwe "rejoices" when we assign collective blame to "Shonas", Because it protects them from being held accountable as individuals and as an institution.

It’s disingenuous. The Gukurahundi was a series of mass killings and genocide in Zimbabwe which were committed by the Shona against the Ndebele. Tribalist acts that targeted mainly the Ndebele ethnic group and supporters of opposition leader Joshua Nkomo—they still discriminate against Ndebele’s to date, most Shona people can’t even speak their language yet the Ndebele can speak Shona fluently. NoViolet Bulawayo writes about it on Gory. A book that explores the historical trauma of tribal acts by the Shona against the Ndebele’s and its legacies in Zimbabwe.

A Ghanaian man, Kofi Offeh, who called himself the “King of Kubala,” has been deported from Scotland to Ghana. He was in a polygamous relationship with a Zimbabwean woman, Jean Gasho (43), and an American woman, Kaura Taylor. The group had been living in a forest near Jedburgh. They claimed the land had been taken from Offeh’s ancestors about 400 years ago and said they were reclaiming it. They refused to recognise the authority of the courts after being ordered to leave. All three were arrested on suspicion of immigration offences, but Offeh was the first to be deported. Earlier this week, local media filmed him arriving at Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana.

@GuleVuyani @Kulubnarti @Tony_runthings @LBGamestips The problem is the xenophobia has been there for long and doesn't seem to have the desired impact. Continuous exposure to it will only cause foreigners to adapt and thats how resistance will start. And yes illegal foreigners who resist despite being illegal. Bookmark

@Kulubnarti @Tony_runthings @LBGamestips laws that govern small businesses and also realising that letting unemployed migrants who also rely on the same services that destitute citizens rely on adds to the tax burden to the already burdened tax payers.

I hired a general hand to do some manual landscaping tasks on a property I own. We agreed on a price. I left. When I came back to check on progress, I realised that he wasn’t doing the work himself. Instead, he hired two guys to do the work for him, so I paid him to hire some guys that he then paid. Akaisa zino, as they say. I feel uncomfortable with what he did. I feel it’s not right. Anyway, I later got the contacts of the two guys who did the actual work. Going forward I will just give them the assignments. I respect the guys who do the actual work, not some smart Alec trying to be an intermediary.

What will it take for Cricket Zimbabwe’s domestic tournaments to attract BIG sponsorships like what soccer is doing right now? Soccer is making all the right noises with ambitious talks of league winners getting $3M+ deals to retain talent and grow the game. Meanwhile, cricket is over reliant on the cricketing board for funding with only the T10 tournament being something to smile about alone. If you dont play for the Chevrons you will never earn well enough and this can make the game not attractive at grassroots level. What do we need to do to gain sponsorship and grow the game locally and make prize pools attractive. Not everyone can make it to the national team but club level should be enough to pay the bills and make it a lucrative career.

@curious_edline You can take any story in the bible and it will find funny to you if you dont believe the existence of God in the first place. So no point quoting it, its not that the story is absurd its simply that u dont believe in God. We can talk about you own beliefs can we?
