@BobbyAllyn I understand fighting the regulations being pushed as solutions. But claiming social media isn’t addictive & doesn’t have negative effects undercuts that effort. Those issues shouldn’t be tied together.

At the LA trial there was expert testimony on the wealth of peer-reviewed literature about how social media use makes young people feel worse about themselves. Limiting social media use makes youth feel better about themselves. Using social media more leads to more depression. Whether this is correlational or casual is missing the larger point here that's both I think common sense and backed up by studies: Compulsive social media use is problematic for kids. How is this even a debate?

@shauseth Technology is also why they don’t shoot like this anymore. These guys were editing on film, so you wanted longer shots you didn’t have to cut — hence the zoom outs. Nowadays it’s much quicker to edit, so you’d have a lot more shots and a lot more interview sound.

@HannitySkip @heynottheface I don’t think either could/would pay LeBron more. My point is, the reason the NBA doesn’t pay him more is because of a framework agreed on by the players union and the league. UFC doesn’t pay fighters more simply because athletes don’t have another option.

What would a Netflix pay for a Jones-Pereira or Jones-Ngannou fight? In an open market the answer to that would help determine Jones’s pay but we live in a world where almost every fighter has tied themselves down with a pre-negotiated price.

@HannitySkip @heynottheface LeBron is underpaid — but the NBA has a salary cap, which the union agreed to because it ensured the league would spend a minimum amount of revenue on compensation. UFC is not operating under a union agreement, just a monopoly.

It would be so easy for Tarantino to just say that the whole 10-movie thing was silly and that he’ll just keep directing films. But he’s exactly the type of guy who’ll stick to this stupid rule while trying to find all sorts of ridiculous ways around it.
