Deonte Banks on/off the field splits. Giants EPA/Play was 8 times worst when Banks was on the field versus off the field. It's the difference between the Giants being 18th in EPA/Play and 32nd. Average defense when he's off the field. Worst defense in the league when he's on.

@art_stapleton I have retrained my brain and I understand that you are unserious if you select RB/S/LB high in the draft because these positions don’t make a lot of money and the constraining factor on team building is salary cap

There are a few players Jon-Eric Sullivan has mentioned (unprompted) as building blocks for this team moving forward. Achane is one of them. He’s eligible for an extension and Sullivan hinted at one possibly coming this summer

What IF the Giants took a “bad value” trade offer from the NFL’s assumed trade value chart to move down from 5 knowing it’s still probably better (for them) to just get that extra Day 2 pick

Being told the #Jets and #Cardinals have received serious interest for picks 2 and 3. Initially believed to be with Je. Love in mind. FA may have somewhat altered those plans.

@McShay13 Todd, I think you’re missing an important detail on what it takes to actually *get* Love on a rookie deal. You did hint at it when you note that Love will be gone by pick 7…

It’s important to note; every GM in the league is taking Jeremiyah Love on a rookie deal over Walker III or Etienne on a veteran deal (not a knock on them, it’s just financial sense). Mickey Loomis and Brett Veach were well aware that Love wasn’t making it to them (at picks 7 and 8, respectively).

There was nothing magical about the restructure, just a new agreement to rebalance salaries in '26 and '27 to be compliant with a cap circumvention rule. He is still not realistically cuttable or tradeable.

I don’t see how he would be tradeable unless the proration structure under this unique restructure method allows the recipient team to inherit his future cap hits in future years, all non-gtd
