
Completely agree but Minecraft isn’t the best example. Most of the issues there is that Mojang is afraid to do anything to the main Minecraft game that moves it too far from where Notch left off and alienate the players as a result. They make far more money off of side projects, spin-offs, crossovers, and merch so they’re better off keeping the brand image clean and leaving the base game alone anyway. People will still play it, especially due to the modding community.
