@jlkurtz I think there was a world where tech works to keep the Big12 alive in the next era of college sports. It’s now worth asking why they should have any interest in that. Not because of Sorsby, but because over the last 2 years the rest of the league has clearly not valued Tech.

@Heartland_CS No. They all want to blame Tech. My issue with Cincinnati on this issue is that they never reported it to the NCAA like they were supposed to back in 2024. They only said anything once the issue came out in April.

Unfortunately Texas Tech got very bad PR advice on how to support him. They never should have issued lengthy statements or done a 21 minute video.

@CowboyColonel @BradenShamo Here's the flaw in your comment. Cincinnati was supposed to report his attempted or reported gambling to the NCAA. They didn't.
It only got brought to light in March 2026 when a sportsbook turned Sorsby in.

@BradenShamo ...remedial gambling education. They had no knowledge of any impermissible betting, no reason to suspect otherwise, and followed NCAA recommended guidelines for a violation of this kind.
Federal law enforcement notified the NCAA in March of their investigation...

Ok, now time to start asking questions. Texas Tech fans, as insanely dumb as they have been, have made ONE good point: Cincy allowed Sorsby to play knowing he was gambling on sport in general. Is that not against NCAA rules? We just gonna let that slide or what?
