@ACTAnalysis@DucksDaily93 yeah I think at this point I believe in mintys upside more as well. the hinds thing is very interesting, he has the look of a developing defensive dman
@TUnit1427@DucksDaily93 Personally, I favour keeping Minty. Love Zelly, but I just have this instinct that Mintyukov is gonna really thrive down the stretch.
And no, criticizing this team doesn’t make you a bad fan.
It’s awesome they made the playoffs and there’s no doubt they’ve taken steps forward this year. But the immaturity and constant clunkers is definitely an issue. It’ll get better as this team gets more experienced, no doubt. But it’s bad right now
@ACTAnalysis@DucksDaily93 yep 100% agree. on the right side ideally it’s a shutdown d man, trouba or Carlson, luneau and the left side is Lacombe, zelly or minty, and hinds
@TUnit1427@DucksDaily93 I think we need a bonafide shutdown D Man. We can move Minty or Zelly (not both) as one of them will command value in a trade, and we have lots of offensive D men (including Luneau in the back end).
Solberg will eventually pan out for us I think, and Hinds looked good.
@chbmeredith@JJ_Breezy88@hockeystatcards one could say he fell off or one could say he was playing at an unsustainably high level lol. he was making plays beyond his real skill set lol
@rollingdux they will for sure be good. really good coach with good top end players balanced out with good, young talent. they will definitely be in the WC1 mix
A team I’m interested to see what they do this summer is the Blues. Still not sure why they were trying to move some of their core pieces if they didn’t have to? They made the playoffs last year and have looked good since the trade deadline.
The Ducks have been a hot and cold team all year. You've got to treat Thursday's game like an elimination game. Can't let the young players go into their first playoff series downtrodden
@JJ_Breezy88@hockeystatcards@chbmeredith if he’s your 3rd RHD than whatever, he’s fine. regardless verbeek needs to find the best defensive defenseman available and go get him
@sausagehobbit@hockeystatcards I try to defend dostal as much as I can since the defense in front of him is so bad, but he’s been just as bad as everyone else for a long time now
@rollingdux All in all the season has been a success. To be honest, they don’t deserve to be in the playoffs the way they have played the last 3 weeks.
Everyone arguing about different things but all correct at the end of the day:
1. Ducks season no matter what has been a success.
2. Ducks have thrown away an opportunity to make lives easier for themselves
3. Ducks are right where they belong.
@rollingdux improvement next year will depend on getting better on defense. right now they have no clue in their own zone. dostal isn’t helping either.
Kings currently playing the Canucks, and the Flames on Thursday. The Oilers will face the Canucks on Thursday. Not looking good for the Ducks. We could really use some help from Vancouver
The Ducks no longer control their own destiny. A Kings win tonight and Thursday along with an Oilers win on Thursday will guarantee the Ducks WC2, and have to deal with the Avalanche in round 1.
Embarrassing hockey from this team as of late
Next mission: avoid Colorado.
Magic number to do that: 3.
One win, one OTL, and it doesn't matter if LA wins out over a weak schedule, Ducks will draw one of Vegas, Edmonton, or Utah.
