They were sold to the Middle East for much longer and eventually Europeans not only ended slavery but actively fought to keep the slaves trade from continuing anywhere as well. People have been enslaved from as far back as we know. All races of people. Even today there are some 40 million slaves and most of them are sex slaves. British, Spanish and French people conquered this land from less advanced people. And in half native. But let’s not act as if this land was inhabited by peaceful people of the earth as modern stories like to say. Indians slaughtered each other. Enslaved, butchered, sacrificed and even cannibalized tribes they conquered.

When politicians say these things on either side they’re mostly talking about the types of people that would vote for them. There’s always independents and a few others from the right side, because lefties are too far gone to think critically enough to disagree with their rulers, that will be upset about things going on. But too many state GOP establishments keep recycling the same old white candidates while giving minimal support to promising young Black conservatives. We must do better. Diversity through excellence isn’t “woke” — it’s smart politics and it’s right. The party of Lincoln should look more like America if we want to win it back.
