The cybertruck after the explosion. Look at it! It's intact! Imagine a regular car with a gas tank blowing up.
I'm not a big EV/Tesla guy, but wow, this is incredible. Las Vegas would be mourning the loss of life today if the terrorists used a different vehicle.
Impressive, @elonmusk
Did a .30-06 Kill Charlie Kirk???
It IS POSSIBLE.
Highly unlikely? Sure.
Do I think it was? No.
I failed to communicate this robustly enough a few weeks back so I’ll do better here.
That being said….
Ballistics talk sounds like a bunch of nothing to someone with little to no understanding of it.
There’s a ton of things to consider, but to people who just don’t know enough?
You’re speaking Chinese.
They may not even know there’s different TYPES of ballistics to begin with.
They simply don’t speak the language yet.
Terminal ballistics is the biggest part of the convo that should be clarified….
So instead of arguing let’s use this as a teachable moment.
Terminal ballistics: The study of a projectile's behavior and effects on impact of a target.
Energy transfer, deceleration, deformation, and tissue disruption are parts of it.
The subcategory is wound ballistics.
That focuses on effects in living tissue.
Penetration, (pause 😂) cavitation and injury mechanisms are part of that.
Key concepts of the “Did a .30-06 kill Charlie” convo needed:
- Energy transfer and massive energy dump:
A projectile's kinetic energy is rapidly deposited, causing severe local destruction.
- Hydrostatic shockwave propagation:
The visible ripple or shockwave through tissue (from his traps to mid back).
These pressure waves can indirectly damage structures beyond the direct path.
- Fragmentation:
The projectile and/or bone (C7 vertebra) breaking into shards can be displaced upward, downward or redirected.
- Deformation/mushrooming/expansion:
The bullet slowing, expanding, or "mushrooming" to increase its frontal area and wounding potential.
- Secondary projectiles:
Bone fragments (and possibly bullet pieces) acting as additional projectiles, driven into adjacent structures. (Crushing C6 or cracking C5/C4?)
- Temporary cavity effects:
The stretching and disruption of surrounding tissue due to the shockwave and energy transfer, contributing to widespread damage.
- Trajectory and penetration mechanics:
A slight downward angle (8-10°?) dam near ENSURES hitting multiple vertebrae (10mm disc spacing vs. 7.8mm bullet diameter) plus deflection off skin into other areas.
These concepts DO align with high velocity rifle rounds (.30-06), where bone impacts amplify fragmentation.
It can add indirect injuries, rather than clean penetration.
Pardon the nerd out, but that’s the point.
To someone who doesn’t know ANY of this…
It sounds like your analysis is an attempted justification of the “official narrative.”
A narrative that we ALL feel is absolute horse shit.
To a person who knows this…
The podcasters saying otherwise seem to have ulterior motives and is “grifting.”
The difficulty is no one believes anyone else is having a good faith, objective convo.
So I leave this info here as a possible middle ground and solution to simmer things down.
It’s US Vs. The State, not each other y’all.
Remember that.
Texas Tech is America’s team. It’s a Main Street university in Middle America made up of mostly kids from working families.
It’s a heartland culture that reflects our nation’s traditional faith and family values. Like our pioneering fathers who braved the harsh elements to settle the Great Plains of West Texas, Red Raiders know how to work, fight, and never quit. They don’t expect anyone to give them anything. They don’t waste time complaining about being underrated or underestimated. They know respect is earned not given. And, they know it’s not about pleasing the crowd or pundits, it’s about giving their best to each other, themselves, and their university.
I’m proud to be a Red Raider. I’m honored to represent @TexasTech in Congress. And, I’m fired up for the country to know more about West Texas - the Food, Fuel, and Fiber (and FOOTBALL!) Capital of the World.
Guns up, Red Raiders…
Let’s go all the way!!
When Utah plays in a conference championship game and when BYU plays in a conference championship game. Embarrassing showing from the worldwide fanbase.
Hey @TexasTechFB!! Wearing red for a @BYUfootball fan is against everything that we believe in! But I’m gonna do it for you during your playoff games! Go win the whole damn thing for us!! 🤙💙
